Tree houses are wonderful places to play with friends. You can even just stay in them and dream as you like. But for some kids, tree houses are just a(n) 1 . They have never been in a tree house 2 they are not able to climb. More unluckily, it is 3 for them to walk. Bill Allen and Phil Trabulsy, two Americans, wanted to help these kids 4 their dreams.
They started Forever Young Tree Houses in Vermont in 1998. In this group, tree houses are 5 for kids with disabilities. And they have special roads which can help kids in wheelchairs (轮椅) get into the 6 .
Kristen Messer, 17, visited a tree house for the first time. "It was really great to have a tree house that I could get into 7 any help," he said happily. Chaz Freeman, a 19-year-old, uses a wheelchair. After visiting a tree house in New Hampshire, he said with a 8 , "We get to experience the life of a normal kid and play in the tree house 9 ." Allen and Trabulsy's group is working hard to build tree houses around America. How great and 10 they are! American people consider them as their heroes.
Helen Keller was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama on June 27, 1880. However, her real life beganone day in March of 1887, when she was almost seven years old. She always called that the most important day in her life. It was the day when Annie Sullivan came to be her teacher. Sullivan didn't leave Helen until her death in 1936.
Helen wanted to go to college when she was a little girl. In 1900, she entered Radeliffe College and graduated from there as a good student in 1904. Then she became the first deaf-blind person to graduate from college. During these years, Annie Sullivan taught Helen by spelling words into Helen's hand.
During the time when she was at college, she finished her first work The Story of My Life. That was the beginning of her writing career (生涯). This career continued for 60 years. Besides The Story of My Life, she wrote 13 other books and lots of articles on blindness, deafness and women's rights (权利).
Also, Helen Keller often gave her hand to the people who were blind or deaf. She was a regular visitor to a number of organizations. She attended nearly all the activities held by the organizations. In 1936, Helen Keller moved to Westport, Connecticut and lived there until her death on June 1, 1968.
