Long long ago, there was a swan(天鹅)with golden feathers(金羽毛). She lived in a lake. A woman lived in a small house 1 the lake with her two daughters. They were very poor. They worked hard all year round, 2 still, they lived a hard life and sometimes they even didn't have enough 3 to buy food.
The swan was 4 to see that. She said to herself, "I'll give one of my feathers to them each day, then they can live a happy life with the money selling my feathers." That evening, she 5 to the poor woman's house and left a golden feather on the table without saying 6 From then on, the swam came every day and gave them a feather. The woman was very happy because their life was much 7 than before.
But day after day, the woman became greedy(贪婪). She said to her 8. The swan may fly away one day. If so, we will be poor again. We should take all her feathers when she comes next time."
"Oh, no, Mom!" cried the daughters, "This will 9 the swan. She helps us a lot!" But the mother wouldn't listen. When the swan came as usual, the mother caught her and took all her feathers. But suddenly, the golden feathers changed into chicken feathers.
Then, the Golden Swan said, "Poor Mother, I came to 10 you, but you wanted to kill me.
Now I am leaving and will never come back. Never be greedy!" With these words, the swan flew away.
Dear Grandma and Grandpa,
How are you? I am fine. School is out already. On our last day, we went to a museum. It was fun until we all had to run through the rain to get on the bus. Even that was kind of fun, though.
How was your camping trip? Dad says you're just getting back home this Wednesday. I've been taking good care of Sparky for you. The dog sleeps at the foot of my bed on most nights. He and the cat have even been getting along.
Dad says to tell you that our yard is looking good this year. We've had lots of rain, especially last Friday— the last day of school

Dear Kyle,
Our camping trip was wonderful! We've already decided to come here again next year. From Ohio. We drove south to Kentucky. We enjoy looking at rocks, so we had decided to go to Mammoth Cave National Park. I'd never seen so many rocks!
Each day, we chose a different cave. We saw narrow(狭窄的)places and huge ones. In one cave, we were underground for more than two miles.
We'll come to get Sparky next weekend, if that's okay.

The Flame Mountain(火焰山)is about 200 km away from Urumqi in Xinjiang. It is in a place with many high mountains around it. It is much hotter than nearby places. If you want to enjoy the feeling of a hot shower in summer, it's the right place to go!

Does rain help make it cooler? People hardly see rain in 10 out of the 12 months in a year. Why? For most of the time, the raindrops dry in the hot air before they reach the ground.

This book follows the story of a young girl Judy, as she goes to university and gets lots of new experiences. This book always reminds me of my mother because she used to read it to me when I was ill in bed.
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
This is a science fiction book about a man's adventures(冒险经历)in space. It is really creative and has a very British sense of humor(幽默感). For this reason, it might be a bit difficult for foreigners to understand, but when I read it, I feel a strong connection to my home. When I worked in Japan and the USA, the book was by my side.
Harry Potter
I'm sure many of you know Harry Potter books! I have read them many times since primary school. I really get lost in the stories. These days I' m reading them again in Germany.
The Railway Children.
This was one of my favorite books. It was a gift for my 13th birthday from my best friend, so it still strongly reminds me of my childhood(童年). It follows three children and their adventures next to a railway(铁路).

There are many sweet in it and I want to share some you. During my childhood I lived with my family. I have an elder sister and a younger brother and we used to play a game called " sale". It means "selling" old things like old toys, clothes, books, etc. in the front yard and we "bought" it with cards（扑克牌）instead of money. We had so much fun.
Like other children, I also played a lot with many during my childhood. Children are always crazy about their toys. I two cute toy bears in my childhood and they were my favorite. They felt so and comfortable that I fell with them every night.
I them as my best friends then and I didn't share them with anyone. Whenever someone touched them, I would cry loudly.

Last weekend, I took a trip to the popular National Air and Space Museum. I found that lots of children all over the place were happy. If ever in my life I felt like a child again, this was surely the place.
As I went into the cockpit(驾驶舱)of an airplane, I felt that my dream of becoming a pilot came true. Everywhere I walked, I was close to airplanes. Very big spaceships and rockets were in different houses. There were kinds of cool things on show. You could join in many experiments to explore(探索)interesting things on science. The National Air and Space Museum is an excellent place to visit.
Oh, make sure you eat something before you come into the museum because the only place you can eat something here is a Boston Market fast food restaurant. The price of the food in it is very high. I had a Big Mac meal for almost $9!
