My birthday is my favorite day of the whole year. The thought of being a year is always exciting. I don't like to have birthday parties, my small surprise birthday party last year was very special(特别的).
Some people don't think it is a party, because I didn't have lots of guests(客人) and I didn't play party games. It was first week at the new school. To celebrate my birthday, my friends wished me at 10:00 and gave me lots of hugs(拥抱). We watched a film that I liked. Then we ate lots of food and listened to music.
Later inday, I went to see my family, who gave me a big surprise. My parents made a big birthday cake themselves. I was sure it was the most beautiful birthday cake I had even seen. I blew out the candles, cut the cake and cheered when I opened birthday presents. I thought I was the happiest .
I think the reason why I like this birthday party is that it was my first week in a new place. I was very nervous, but spending time my friends and family on my birthday helped me feel more comfortable.

What do No. 5 High School students do in their free time? Last month we asked our students about their free time activities. Our questions were about exercise, usage of the Internet and watching TV. Here are the results（结果）.
We found that only fifteen percent（百分比）of our students exercise every day. Forty-five percent exercise four to six times a week. Twenty percent exercise only one to three times a week. And twenty percent do not exercise at all!
We all know that many students often go online, but we were surprised that ninety percent of them use the Internet every day. The other ten percent use it at least three or four times a week. Most students use it for fun and not for homework.
The answers to our questions about watching television were also interesting. Only two percent of the students watch TV one to three times a week. Thirteen percent watch TV four to six times a week. And eighty-five percent watch TV every day! Although many students like to watch sports, game shows are the most popular.
It is good to relax by using the Internet or watching game shows, but we think the best way to relax is through exercise. It is healthy for the mind and the body. Exercise such as playing sports is fun, and you can spend time with your friends and family as you play together. And remember, "Old habits die hard." So start exercising before it's too late!

Mukbang started in South Korea in around 2010 and has spread（传播）all over the world. Why did mukbang first appear in this country? According to Jeff Yang, an Asian-American culture expert, eating on one's own can be hard in a country like South Korea because it has the culture of eating together. But in fact eating alone is quite common in the country. Watching mukbang can be a way to have someone to eat with. It allows people to connect with others even though they are at home alone.
This is one of the reasons why many people around the world like watching mukbang. However, mukbang has its dark sides. The way mukbangers eat food in some shows isn't healthy. This can encourage （鼓励） bad habits and bring serious health problems. To attract people's attention, some mukbangers prepare a lot of food in front of the camera. But they throw away much food secretly during the show or throw up food after the show to make viewers believe they have eaten up everything. These mukbangers waste a lot of food.
Such shows have been criticized（批评）by many people. Food waste is a serious problem around the world, and stopping food waste has special meaning for our country. Thus, our country has done a lot of things to solve the problem and asked short-video platforms, such as TiTok and Kuaishou, to regulate（管理）their eating shows.
The year 2022 was a big year for sports in China, because China would hold not only the 24th Winter Olympics in Beijing, but also the 19th Asian Games（亚运会）in Hangzhou in 2023.
On August 6th, 2018, the official emblem（徽章） for the Hangzhou Asian Games came out.It would be the third Chinese city to host the Asian Games after Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010.

Fifteen years ago, I drove a taxi for a living. One day I went to pick up a passenger（乘客）at 2:40 am. When I arrived there, I walked to the door and knocked.
After a while, the door opened. A small woman stood before me. She was more than eighty years old. By her side was a big bag.
