As her son, I was so of my mum.

Chinese New Year Painting, or nianhua in Chinese, is a kind of traditional paintings to be put up on walls and windows during the Spring Festival. Its bright colors and different subjects show the Chinese great expectation for happiness and wealth.

Chinese New Year Painting is an old handicraft (手工艺). Its original (起初的) form was a picture of a door god during the Tang Dynasty. Later, more subjects such as the Kitchen God, women and babies were included. As the Chinese New Year arrives, every family puts up its New Year paintings in order to say goodbye to the past and welcome the future. One of the most famous woodblock New Year paintings comes from Yangjiabu of Shandong Province. It covers all kinds of themes and forms. They reflect people's everyday life.

As time went by, people found New Year paintings old — fashioned. Besides, they considered the door god was too scary to hang in their homes. They wanted something more artistic. So in the middle of the 1980s, the sales of New Year paintings dropped greatly.

Usually colorful woodblock New Year paintings are produced in four steps. First, artists draw a simple sketch (素描) on the paper. Next, they make the simple sketch on the wood board and print a few samples (样品). Then, they add color to the sample. Finally, when the preparation is finished, the printers paint color on the color board, and then put paper on the wood board and brush the paper. Then the colorful woodblock New Year paintings are ready…

A man had a little daughter—an only and much—loved child. He lived for her. So when she became ill, he became a crazy man. He tried everything to bring her health back.

Just then he woke up from his dream. The lesson was clear, and its effects were quick. From that hour on, he was not a sad father. He became cheerful with his friends. His darling's candle would not be put out by his useless tears.

Friends are special people in your life you can depend on.  They have many of the same hobbies, sports, or other favorite things.

Friends shares things with each other.  Your friend will often lend you an ear too. This means that she will be a good listener when you share your thoughts and feelings.  A good friend will want to help you when you are sad. She will want to laugh with you when you are happy. Being together will help your friendship grow.

If you have a disagreement with your friend, it doesn't mean that she doesn't like you any more. Actually it means that she simply shares a different thought with you. Talk with your friend if this happens.

 Treat them well and care for each other. Being a great friend is a lot of work, but the work is well worth it. Go and be a good friend to someone. A friend can bring the best to you.

Maybe you pride yourselves on only sleeping a few hours a night. However, are you feeling tired and sleepy throughout the day? Do you have a hard time keeping your eyes open as you study? Have you nodded off while driving? If you can answer "Yes" to any of these, it shows you could not have enough sleep. It is suggested that most adults need seven to nine hours' sleep. As for teens, they need even more. If you aren't getting enough sleep, you should:

Everybody may be under stress. No matter what your age is, you can feel stressed out by things that are happening in your life.
