Welcome to the 26th century! Cyborg (半机器人) technology is a way of life. People with human brains and artificial (人造的) bodies are everywhere.

This is the future world shown in the film Alita: Battle Angel. US director James Cameron made the film. The movie came out in the Chinese mainland theaters on Feb 22.

The story is based on Japanese manga artist Yukito Kishiro' s popular manga series of the same name. The series was published during the 1990s. The main character is a girl named Alita. She is a cyborg. One day, she wakes up in wreckage (残骸) and finds that she has lost her memory. Luckily, a doctor saves her. As she starts her new life, Alita finds she has superhuman abilities. She decides to find the truth behind her origin. She sets off a journey that leads her through a dark world.

In Cameron's own words, the movie is "not like any of the films that I've done before". Its visual effects (视觉效果) are especially impressive. The film's actors used the latest motion-capture (动作捕捉) technology. They wore special suits that record their movements. Later, motion-capture editors use these movements to make special effects. Rosa Salaza plays Alita. She wore a suit with more than 7,000 pieces and layers. It can capture human movement. The model that was used for her face was changed nearly 5,000 times to make it more vivid.

Marilla, walking home one late April evening, realized that the winter was over and gone.

It did not matter how old she was; this thought still made her happy. She thought of the fire going and a table nicely spread for tea, and she felt happy that Anne was home to do these things. So when she entered her kitchen and found the fire dark, with no sign of Anne, she was very disappointed and angry.

So Marilla made the tea herself. It was dark and still no sign of Anne. Marilla went to light the candle in Anne's room and saw the girl lying on the bed face down.

"Please, Marilla, go away and don't look at me," said a small voice.

"Anne Shirley, whatever is the matter with you? What have you done?"

"Look at my hair, Marilla," she whispered.

Marilla lifted her candle and looked at Anne's hair, which ran all down her back. It looked strange.

"Anne Shirley, what have you done to your hair? Why, it's green!"

"Yes, it's green, " groaned Anne. "I thought nothing could be as bad as red hair. But now I know it's ten times worse to have green hair."

"How did this happen?'

"I dyed(染发)it. I knew it was a bad thing to do, " said Anne. "But I didn't mean to dye it green, Marilla. He said it would turn my hair a beautiful black."

"Who said? Who are you talking about?"

The man from Germany came this afternoon. I bought the dye from him."

Anne's unhappiness continued for a week. During that time, she went nowhere and washed her hair every day. Nothing worked.

At the end of the week, Marilla said, "It's no use, Anne. Your hair must be cut off. You can't go out with it looking like that."

And so Marilla cut almost all of Anne's hair off.

Everybody talked about Anne in school on Monday; but to her relief, nobody guessed the real reason for her new hair cut.

Many facts suggest that children are overweight and the situation is getting worse, according to the doctors. 

Some people blame（责备）the fact that we are surrounded（包围）by shops selling unhealthy, fatty foods, such as fried chicken and ice cream, at low prices. 

There is another argument that blames parents for allowing their children to become overweight.  Because good eating habits begin early in life, long before children start to visit fast food shops. If children are given fried chicken and chocolate rather than healthy food or they are always allowed to choose what they eat, they will go for sweet and salty foods every time, and this will carry on throughout their lives.

There is a third reason for this situation.  They do not walk to school. When they get home, they sit in front of the television or their computers and play computer games. Not only is this an unhealthy pastime, it also gives them time to eat more unhealthy food. What they need is to go outside and play active games or sports.

The above are the main reasons for this problem.  Besides, adults should keep them away from fast food shops and bad eating habits.

They spent ten months travelling 44,609 miles t 18 countries on land and sea. The couple's world tour b in June 2008 with a two-hour bus trip to London from their home in Oxforshire. They took the train to Brussels and then c a bus and train to Hamburg before going to Copenhagen. The couple even ron an elephant for 15 miles through the Chinese part of the Mekong River（湄公河）.

The couple hoped to write a book about their j. They thought it could teach other travelers how to travel in a greener way.

One day in autumn, Squire Gordon went on a long journey. John went with him and I pulled the cart(马车). The weather was rainy and windy, but we travelled happily until we came to the old wooden bridge.

The man at the tollgate(收费处) told us the river was rising fast. " There's going to be a bad storm tonight," he said.

We arrived in the town, but Squire Gordon's business took a long time. We didn't leave until late afternoon. The wind was blowing, making a terrible sound.

Suddenly, we heard a crack, and a huge tree fell across the road in front of us. I stopped still. I was shaking with fear, but did not turn round or run away.

"We must go back to the crossroads," said John, "and drive six miles to the wooden bridge." 

When we got there, it was nearly dark. There was water on the middle of the bridge, but the Squire did not stop. As soon as my feet touched the bridge, I knew that something was wrong. I stopped dead. "Go on, Beauty," said the Squire.

"There's something wrong, sir," said John. He got out and tried to lead me forward.

"Come on, Beauty," he said. But I knew that the bridge was not safe.

Just then the man at the tollgate saw us. "Hey, there! Stop!" he cried.

"What is it?" shouted the Squire.

"The bridge is broken in the middle," he answered. "If you go on to it, you are all going to drown in the river."

"Thank God!" said the Squire. "Thank you, Beauty!" said John. We turned around and went along the road by the river. For a long time, no one said anything. Then John said, "Black Beauty saved our lives. He knew the bridge was dangerous."

When we returned home, the Squire told Mrs. Gordon, "We are all safe, thanks to Black Beauty!"

That night, I had good food to eat and a comfortable bed of straw. And I was glad, though I was very tired.
