Mrs. Green works in an office. She's very busy and has no time to have a good rest. Every evening when she gets home from her office, she always feels tired and wants to go bed early. But her daughter Anna often has a lot of interesting things to tell her after supper. Anna doesn't stop talking until she falls asleep (睡着的). Then Mrs. Green can go to bed. But Mrs. Green has to get up in the morning when Anna is asleep.
Linda is Jane's daughter. Tomorrow (明天) is Linda's birthday. Jane wants to have a party for her, so she goes to the store. She buys some clothes for Linda. Linda's favorite color is purple, so she buys a purple skirt and two purple sweaters. They look nice and Linda will love them.
Jane meets her friend Alice in the store. Alice has a daughter, too. Her birthday and Linda's are on the same day, the twelfth of December. So Jane invites (邀请) Alice and her daughter to her home tomorrow. They can have dinner together (一起). They will have a good time!
Just like Chinese schools, American schools begin in September. There are two terms in a school year. The first one is from September to January and the second is from February to June. Most (大多数) American students begin to go to school when they are five years old. They usually spend twelve years in primary school and middle school.
Middle school students take four or five subjects each term, such as math, science and so on. Their homework (家庭作业) is always a book report (报告). To finish homework, they need to go to the library a lot. They also have many activities (活动) after school. Some are about sports, like swimming and ball games. Some are about art, like singing, dancing and drawing. Students have a lot of fun from these activities.
It's 12:00. Mum and Dad aren't at home. Bob wants to have some bread, but
Sally doesn't like it.
" We have apples, oranges and bananas at home," Sally says.
"Sounds nice. And I also like some hot (热的) food," Bob says.
Sally finds some rice, some eggs and two tomatoes. "I can make tomato and
egg rice for you. It's very easy," Sally says.
They have lunch at 1:00 p.m. And the fruit salad is nice, too. Sally is happy he
