As he stepped up to the check-out counter(收银台), he saw that his total was 127.50. "How can that be? "he asked, "I only buy a few things!" The clerk replied, "Your mother said that you would pay for her."

Sometimes you might feel it impossible to get on well with your parents. But in fact, it isn't as difficult as you think. Follow these ways, and then you'll improve your relationship with them.
Spend more time with your parents. Your parents won't always be around, so try to spend more time with them. This doesn't mean just sitting in front of TV together. Instead, you should do more activities with your parents. By doing so, you can feel much easier to communicate with them.
Talk with your parents more often. In order to understand them better， you should talk with them more often. Try to learn more about them. For example, you could ask them about their own childhood.
Always listen to your parents. This may seem simple, but it's often harder than you think. Look at your parents when they are talking. Don't interrupt them, and then speak clearly when replying to them.
Share your feelings with your parents. Sometimes your parents also want to learn more about you. Just do your best to open your heart to them. When possible, talk to them about something at school or what you really want to be in the future.
Make your parents feel proud. There are always some ways to make your parents feel good about you. By working hard, you can do well at school or win prizes in games. They will think how lucky they are to have you and be more willing to talk about you in front of others.
When is your best study time? Do you feel most like studying in the hours of the night? If so, you are not alone. But that can be a problem for parents and schools.
While some students like to get up early in the morning and study, most will say that late-night studying is most productive(有效的).When it comes to brain power, students will say they perform better at night, and the fact that parents might find surprising and interesting is that science seems to agree.
This can be a problem. School starts early in the morning for most students, but science also shows that the amount of sleep you get will affect your performance.
Here are a few tips for late-night studying:
Find out if you are a morning person or a night person. You might surprise yourself. Try getting up early to study and see if it works out.
Have a talk with parents to tell them that teen brains do perform better at night. Show them the science. You might be able to come up with a solution.
Insist on(坚持)a good "start time " for studying if you need to study late. Remember don't turn on the TV after dinner!
Insist on a proper(合适的）time for closing books and getting to sleep.
World Braille Day(世界盲文日)is on the 4th of January every year. He is the man who invented Braille(布莱叶盲文) that helps blind people read and write.
Braille was a Frenchman who lived between 1809 and 1852.He became blind at the age of three. At school he learned two musical instruments(乐器)and traveled around France to play in churches. He was just 15 when he invented his reading and writing system。
This system was later called Braille. It was a big success. He used just six raised dots(凸起的圆点)on paper. Braille changed the lives of blind people forever. He had no idea how important his invention was because he died at the age of 43. Two years after his death, France officially recognized(官方承认) his system.
The day is used to remind people how Braille has changed the lives of blind people. It has given the blind a way to be more independent and to educate themselves. Without it, many people could not read or write.
Nowadays, computers make it very easy for people to read and write using Braille. A blind worker said, "With Braille, blind people can have the chance to get more information and make contact（联系）with the outside world."
