In China, there is a saying that a distant relative is not as good as a near neighbor(远亲不如近邻). I agree with it 1 from my experience (经历), I think it's 2 for each one to have a good neighbor.
First, a good neighbor is a good friend. When our family 3 to a new house, our good new neighbors help us to carry some furniture(家具) and tell us something 4 this neighborhood. They invite(邀请)all members of your5 to their home and have a hot drink. They make us feel comfortable here.
Next, a good neighbor is a good relative(亲戚). When we travel, our neighbors 6 keep the newspapers and 7 our house for us. When they 8 , we also help them do the same. In the new neighborhood, we always 9 each other. We are just like good relatives.
Finally, I get a very important 10 from our neighbors that having a good neighbor is being a good neighbor yourself.

I'm a middle school student from America. I live far away from school. So I often go to school by bus. It takes me about twenty minutes from my home to the school.
But at my school and other schools in our town, there is a "Walk to School Day". It is on Wednesday every week. On that day, parents send their kids to a bus stop. There are many bus stops in our town, each bus stop, two adults (成年人) lead us to walk to school together.
"Walk to School Day" stops us taking cars or buses. That is good for the air and we can get exercise too. On the way to school, we talk to each other. We can also make new friends. I like "Walk to School Day". I walk about five kilometers with other students on that day. Our school will give some students beautiful backpacks if they do well. And I got one last year.
Now children can do many nice things after school. They can read books, ride bikes, watch TV and play games. But boys like playing ball games best.
The children near my door often play football in the garden, and sometimes they break(打破) my windows. One Saturday afternoon I stay at home and read a book. After a few minutes, I close my eyes and go to sleep. Suddenly(突然) a sound(声音) at the door wakes me up. Soon a little boy comes in.
"Not one of my windows again?"
" Oh, no!" answers the boy." Your window is open this time and our ball is in your bedroom. May I get it, please?"
A very big Lost and Found Office is at Baker Street in London. Do you know how many things there are in the office now? About 250,000!
You can see all kinds of things there. Most of them are common (普通的) things like books, bags, clothes and keys. But some are dear things like phones, laptops (笔记本电脑) and watches.
Where do so many things come from? People often find them on trains, on buses and in taxis. The office marks (作标记) them with different colors. Red is for the things from a taxi, white is for the things from a bus and yellow is for the things from a train.
How many of the things can go to their owners (主人)? Many of the things are there for a long time, but no one comes to get them. If the office can't find the owner of a thing in three months (月), they will give it to a charity (慈善机构) to help more people.
