One sunny Monday, I decided to go for a walk with my husband. On my finger was a very special1. It was my 20th birthday gift from my grandmother. The cars and buses could not get past. Then a policeman came. "Whose donkey is this?" He asked. "It's mine," said a farmer," but I can't move it." The policeman and the farmer did their best to move the donkey, but it would not move. We laughed, but the drivers of cars and buses were worried. "We can't move the donkey，"the farmer and the policeman said. "What shall we do?" "Give him a carrot!" my father said. "That's a good idea!" said the farmer. Soon he found a carrot and showed it to the donkey. When the donkey saw the carrot, it jumped up and walked after the farmer. All the cars and buses could get past at last!
A father was sitting at his desk and looking at his bills when his little son rushed in and said, "Dad, because today is your birthday and you are 40 years old, I am going to give you 40 kisses, one for each year!" When the boy started kissing, the father shouted, "Oh, Andrew, don't do it now. I am too busy!" The boy soon became silent as tears fell down from his big blue eyes. Feeling sorry, the father said, "You can finish the kisses later."
The boy said nothing but quickly walked away. That evening the father said, "Come and finish the kisses now, Andrew!" But the boy didn't. Unfortunately, a few days later, the boy had an accident and died. His sad father wrote, "If only I could tell him how sorry I am for my thoughtless words and how much my heart is hurt."
Love is a two-way street. We must warmly accept any loving acts, or others will take it as a "No" and it may leave a scar (伤痕).If we don't have love, our life will lose its true meaning. If we are too busy to give and receive love, we are too silly! Nothing is more important than loving the people who are important to us.
Nowadays, more and more schools in China make rules making students wear school uniforms to school. Parents and teachers think it will create a better learning environment at school, but some students don't like their school uniforms. So, what are school uniforms like in other parts of the world?
In Japan, boys in middle school wear uniforms called "gakuran", which have dark jackets with stand-up collars(立领) and pants. Girls, on the other hand, wear uniforms called "sailorfuku" which look like European naval(海军)uniforms.
Most schools in England require students to wear school uniforms. Boys need to wear long grey or black pants, white shirts and school ties. Girls have the same clothes as boy, but they can wear skirts or summer school dresses during the summer term. In the UK, uniforms were the custom throughout most of the 20th century, but now more and more public schools stop requiring students to wear uniforms. They think uniforms make students lost their personalities. (个性)For children in many African countries, school uniforms can be a kind of pride, or a huge financial burden (经济负担). Many children have only one uniform, and that may be all the clothes they have.
In a word, love it or hate it, the school uniform is a part of growing up for children around the world, so you'd batter enjoy your school uniform and your school life.
My uncle has a very beautiful umbrella. He's had it for years. He is very careful with it, so it still looks as good as new. He shook his head "Then how did you get it?" I asked. "Well," he answered, "there's a strange but true story about the umbrella. About ten years ago, I was walking along a quiet London street one evening when it suddenly rained. I had no raincoat or umbrella. And the people in the streets were fewer and fewer. As I was on my way to a party, I was afraid to get wet. So I stood in a doorway and waited for the rain to stop. What was worse, there even wasn't a person around, and still it rained and rained. At last a young man came to the place where l was standing. As I hoped he would allow me to walk to the next corner with him, where I could get a taxi, I stepped out of the dark doorway where I had been standing. As I suddenly appeared before him, the young man was so shocked that he dropped the umbrella. He ran away and disappeared into the darkness, I picked up the umbrella and continued my walk. I knew it would be hard in this big city to find the owner, so I've kept it ever since."

There once lived a king named Midas who was very rich. He loved two things above all else: his little daughter and gold. The king had many rooms full of gold, but he wasn't satisfied. He wanted to get even more gold.
One day when the king was taking a walk in his garden, an unknown visitor came to him. He told the king that he could wish for anything the king wanted. At first the king did not believe the stranger, but finally he was convinced (信服的) . "I wish to have more gold," the king said." "Very well," answered the stranger. "You shall have your wish. From tomorrow, everything you touch will turn to gold."
The next morning the king got out of bed early. He wanted to see if his wish had been given. First, he touched a chair, then a flower, then a table. Everything he touched turned to gold! The king was very happy. Then he sat down to eat breakfast. But as soon as he touched his food, it turned gold. The king began to worry. What would happen if he couldn't eat anything? Just then his daughter came into the dining room. She ran to her father. But as he touched her, she turned to gold.
The king was sad and worried. He went out to the garden. As he was walking, he saw the stranger again. The king asked him to take back the wish. "I don't want any more gold," he cried. The stranger warned the king to be sure this time. Then he agreed to take back the wish. From that day on, the king was a wiser and happier man, even though he had less gold.
How time flies! We are just leaving our lovely high school. I have to say goodbye to my teachers and classmates. I'll never the happy days we have spent together. Thanks, dear teachers. You always work and have taught us so much knowledge and you've taken good care of us and helped us grow up happily and healthily. Thanks, dear classmates.
