The Great Wall of China is very famous in the world. It is the wall in the world.
It is about 6, 000 kilometers long, 7meters high and 5 meters wide. In most , five horses or ten men can walk side by side.
If you go to visit the Great Wall, you will wonder how the Chinese people could build such a great wall thousands of years ago. It was very difficult to build it modern machines.
The workers had to do all the work hand. Thousands of men died when they built the wall.
The Great Wall has a of over two thousand years. And many foreigners come to visit it every year. Today the Great Wall is a place of interest. Both the Chinese people and people all over the world come to visit it.

Mr. Lee was in bed and was trying to sleep when he heard the bell ring. He turned on the light and looked at his 1. It was twelve. "Who can it be at this time of night?" He thought. He decided to have a look. So he got out of the bed,2 his coat and went to the door. When he opened the door, there was3there. "That is very strange." Then he went back to his bedroom, took off his coat and got back into bed.
A few minutes later, he heard the bell again. Mr. Lee jumped out of the bed very 4and ran to the door. He opened it, but again he found no one there. He closed the door and tried not to feel 5. Then he saw a piece of paper on the floor. There were some words on it ''It is now after midnight, so it is April fool's Day. April fool to you!"
"Oh, it was the English boy next door!" Mr. Lee exclaimed (惊叫) and almost smiled. He went back to bed and feel asleep at once. The bell did not ring again.
Typhoons in the northern part of the world have girls' names. Sometimes they have very beautiful names. Rose is a pretty name but there was nothing pretty about Typhoon Rose. It was one of the f typhoons to hit Hong Kong in ten years.
It began o the morning of Monday, August 16th, 1971. At ten o'clock, Typhoon Rose was still 130 miles away but already the wind was blowing people's umbrellas away. It b stronger and stronger. The typhoon shelters were soon full of boats. Some very big ships went out to sea b it was safe for them to be at sea in a typhoon. Kai Tak Airport closed. No p could take off or land.
In Typhoon Rose, many people died and lost their homes. The people of Hong Kong will not quickly forget Typhoon Rose!

People do many different kinds of things this day. They enjoy flowers, eat special cakes and drink wine. It's very interesting. The best way to celebrate it is to climb hills or mountains.
