Hello, I'm Linda. Here I will tell you something about my parents. My mother is a(n) woman. She is always able to deal with difficult problems or situations in our everyday life. She is also a good singer and she is good at writing . My father is a music lover, too. He often listens to music. But he country music because it often his sweet memories. I can also say my father is a superhero. Why?
Let me share his story. Last Tuesday, Dad volunteered to clean the park as usual. Suddenly, he a woman crying for help. He ran up to see what happened. The woman's 15-month-old baby girl choked (窒息) on a small piece of pear. She was in a(n) situation. Her face turned purple. What a(n) that the baby was too young to save herself. The mother was nervous and she didn't know what to do. I saw Dad take the baby in his arms. He held the baby upside down (颠倒) and gave her a few pats (轻拍) on the back. After a short while, he in getting the piece of pear out of her mouth. The mom was thankful and people nearby all Dad because the baby was saved. What a great superhero! I look up to him a lot.
My father was a cemetery (公墓)keeper. When I was a child, he often took me there. Before we left each time, he would lay some stones on some graves (坟墓). I never asked why. I just thought that was his work.
Yesterday, I visited my sick father. He asked me to go to the cemetery and lay some stones. For some reason, it had to be done that day. I agreed. I hadn't been there for a long time.
When I got there, I found a woman in front of one of the graves I would lay a stone on. As I bent to lay it, I heard her whisper "Thank you". It was then that I noticed the date of death on the grave was that same day. The grave was that of a child, only five when he died fifteen years ago.
"He's my son," she said. "But, where's your father? He was always the one to leave the stone."
I told her that my father was ill but he asked me to do this. It seemed important to him. "Your father's kindness means more to me than anything else. When my child died, I came often to see him. It is our custom to leave a stone. It tells the one who is here that he is thought of. But, then we moved away from here…so many painful memories. . . I was so afraid that he would be alone. But your father marked the grave every time he came. Each time I returned here, I saw that stone and it always comforted me. Your father is the kind of man who would ease the pain of a mother's heart though we are strangers. Just tell him you saw me today, won't you?" she said.
It took me a minute to find my voice. That small stone marked the grave of a child and the heart of his mother.
Many students get a driver's permit at 15. In California, they are then allowed to drive for 50 hours under supervision. “Under supervision” means that a friend or relative who already has a license has to ride with them. But what happens when teenagers (persons between 13 and 19 years old) start driving on their own? Many are careful drivers and never have a problem. But many others are not, and they create(造成) problems on the road. Fifteen-year-olds are too young to drive, and sixteen-year-olds are too immature(不成熟的) to start driving alone. In the United States, more teenagers are drilled in driving accidents than in any other way. While fewer than 7% of all drivers are teenagers, teenagers are involved(占；包括) in 14% of the terrible car accidents in the country. Sixteen-year-olds are involved in over 43 crashes in every million kilometers they drive. But seventeen-year-olds cause only about 30 accidents in a million kilometers of driving. One year makes a difference. So the age limit(限制) should be increased.
We know music is very important in our daily life. Do you notice music playing at any of those places when you go somewhere? Today most stores, stations, restaurants and other places play music. You might even hear music in an office or on a farm.
Scientists believe that music influences the way people behave. They think that the sound of Western classical (古典的) music makes people feel richer. When a restaurant plays classical music, people spend more money on food and drinks. When the restaurant plays modern music, people spend less money. Without music, people spend even less.
Scientists also believe that loud, fast music makes people eat faster. Some restaurants play fast music during their busy hours. This makes people eat faster and leave quickly. Restaurants can make more money in this way.
Some scientists think that music makes you think and learn better. They say that music helps students to be more active. It is true that people learn better when they are relaxed. And listening to music can help you relax.
The next time you hear music somewhere, be careful. It might influence the way you do things.
Mr. Green brought his family to China and visited Zhangjiajie. On May 4th, 2019, they enjoyed the magic mountains there.They took a lot of photos on the way and then they had a picnic under a big tree. Suddenly it began to rain heavily, so they hurried back to the hotel.They wanted to go back to look for it, but there wasn't enough time because they had to catch the plane at 20：30 that night!To make his family happy, Mr. Green said, "Well, let me tell you an interesting story.One day he fell down from it by accident, but he didn't hurt himself at all."
