Tom's father has a big farm. On New Year's Day, his father asked him, "Could you work on the farm when you're free this year, Tom?"
"Farming is not my work, Dad. I have much school work to do," Tom wasn't glad at it.
"If you help me work on the farm, I will give you anything you want."
"OK," Tom agreed happily.
So Tom gets up early and works hard on the farm in his free time this year, just like other farmers. His wheat grows very well.
Time flies. Today is the last day of the year, December 31st. The father is talking with his son.
"I'm happy to see you work hard on the farm. Tom, now tell me what you want as the gift(礼物)."
Tom shows his father a big piece of bread. He makes it with the wheat on his farm. "I have already gotten your gift, Dad. You're trying to give me a lesson— no pain, no gain.

All around the world, people drink tea. But tea does not mean the same thing to everyone. In different countries, people have very different ideas about drinking tea.
In China, for example, people always drink tea when they are getting together. They drink it at any time of the day at homes or in teahouses. They prefer plain tea, with nothing else in it.
Tea is also important in Japan. The Japanese have a special way of serving tea called tea ceremony（茶道）. It is very old and full of meaning. Everything must be done in a special way in the ceremony. There is even a special room for it in Japanese homes.
Another tea-drinking country is England. In England, the late afternoon is "tea time". Almost everyone has a cup of tea then. The English usually make tea in a teapot and drink it with milk and sugar. They also eat cakes, cookies and a few sandwiches at teatime. This is the so-called "Afternoon Tea" in Britain.
In the United States, people drink tea mostly for breakfast or after meals. Americans usually use tea bags to make their tea. Tea bags are faster and easier than making tea in teapots. In summer, many Americans drink cold tea—"iced tea". Sometimes they drink canned iced tea, just as soda.

Hello, we are students from Thailand, and we want (save) the elephants. The elephant is one of Thailand's symbols. Our (one) flag had a white elephant on it. This is a symbol of good luck.
Elephants are smart animals. They can soccer or music. They can also draw very (good). People say that "an elephant never forgets ". Elephants can walk a long time and never get (丢失). They can also remember places with food and water. This helps (they) to live.
But elephants are great danger. People cut down many trees elephants are losing their homes. People also kill elephants for their ivory(象牙制品). Today there are only about 3,000 elephants (over 100,000 before). We must save the trees and not things made of ivory. Remember that March 13th is Thai Elephant Day.
