Mr. Brown had much money. One day he went on a trip to the countryside with his 5-year-old son, Eric. He wanted to show his son how poor people lived, so they spent(花费)a day and a night on the farm of a very poor family.
When they got back from their trip, Mr. Brown asked Eric, "My dear son, how was the trip?" "Very good, Dad! Eric said happily.
"Did you see how the poor lived?" Mr Brown asked.
"Yeah" Eric answered.
"And what did you learn?" Mr Brown asked.
"We have a dog at home, but they have four. We have a pool that is in the middle of the garden, but they have a river that has no end. We have expensive(昂贵的) lamps in the garden, but they have the stars, "Eric answered.
When little Eric finished, Mr. Brown couldn't say anything.
In Britain, some people like to "go to work on an egg", but more people like cereal(谷物）, bread with butter and jam before going to work. But, whatever(无论什么)they eat, most people drink tea or coffee.
At weekends, most people have a more traditional(传统的)breakfast. If you stay at a hotel, you can have a breakfast like this.
Some people have their biggest meal in the middle of the day and some have it in the evening, but most people today have a small mid-day meal- usually sandwiches, some crisps and fruit.
The evening meal is usually called "diner". A traditional British dinner is meat and two vegetables. The most popular meat is chicken and beef. Vegetables grown in Britain, like potatoes, onions, and carrots, are very popular, but today you can buy vegetables from many countries all through the year. After dinner, people eat dessert something sweet like fruit, chocolate cake, or apple pie.

How are things going? Let me tell you something about Chinese festival now. The spring festival is the most important festival in China. It's on January 1st according to(根据)the Chinese lunar calendar. People usually begin to buy food, clothes and decorate their houses a month before the festival.
People are busy preparing for the New Year dinner. And they usually do some washing, cleaning the festival.
On the eve of the festival, each family all get together for a big diner. Children are very happy because they can get many presents or some money from their parents and their grandparents.
On lunar New Year's Day, people usually get up early. They eat dumplings. When they meet their neighbors, they are very happy.
I plan to spend with my family on the Spring Festival. I plan to see my grandparents and friends.

There are four seasons in the year in China. They spring, summer, fall and winter. I like spring best of the four seasons. It returns in March. The weather warm. Everything begins to grow. Many trees and flowers come to life. It's a good time to fly kites. I often fly a kite with my parents on Sundays. It is also a good time traveling. May Day is coming.
