It was a sunny Sunday afternoon. John's parents were not in. John decided to go to the Happy Theater to watch a talent show, so he 1 home. Only Barky, John's pet 2 stayed at home. Just after John left, a bad man 3 the window, and then he came into the house 4 it. He began looking for expensive things in the rooms. He found some 5 in the box. He took out the money, 6 as he was leaving, he heard a dog's barking(叫声). He looked around and found Barky looking at him angrily. He was very scared. Barky was going to bite him when John came home. John let Barky sit down and told the bad man 7," Come with me to the 8, or Barky will bite you!" So the bad man had to 9 John with Barky close behind. A policeman cuffed(铐) the bad man after John told him the thing. Barky had a 10 for watching the house. But the bad man didn't know.

Tom was a fat boy when he was ten. He liked watching TV very much. He watched TV at least 5 hours every day. Wherever(无论哪里) he went, he would be late.
One day, he found a pair of special glasses in his post-box(邮箱). He also found a message saying, "With these you can see time."
The boy decided to have a try. He put the glasses on, looked at his brother, a tall and thin boy, and saw a big box of flowers on top of his head. And it wasn't just his brother. When he looked at his parents, he also saw the flowers. The three boxes were very large and the flowers were very beautiful. Then, he looked at himself from the mirror. He saw the flowers, too. But his flowers went to the mouth of the television. Its mouth was big. His flowers became fewer and fewer.
At last, he learned that watching TV was a waste of time. He could learn nothing from it. He decided he would never again let the television eat his time.
Last year I went to Australia to study and travel. I stayed in Sydney for two weeks. I visited places of interest in the morning and took English lessons in the afternoon. A friend and I stayed with a family from Sydney. The homestay parents and brothers were very friendly to us. We talked about a lot of things with each other in English.
My spoken English improved (提高) greatly in Australia. I used to speak very little English in China. But in Australia, I had to use it very often. I was soon able to talk with my teachers and homestay family freely.
To me, the best place in Australia is the Sydney Opera House. You can look at it from different sides. I think it is one of the most wonderful buildings in the world. I cannot sing very well, when I was inside, I really wanted to sing.
Time flew when I was in Sydney. Soon came Christmas, then the New Year. I had never spent the New Year without my family. But this year, I was so far away from them. I felt a little homesick. I missed them so much, and l knew they missed me so much, too. In the evening, I phoned my family. When I heard their voices, I began to cry. My homestay mother held me in her arms and comforted me.
One day, in a heavily crowded place, a young man began shouting, "People, look at me. I have the most beautiful heart in the world." All the people praised(称赞) him when they saw his beautiful heart in a perfect shape. However, there came an old man, "No, I don't think so. Young man, I have got the most beautiful heart in the world!"
The young man asked him, "Show me your heart, then!"
The old man showed his heart to him. The heart had scars(伤痕) all over.
The young man started laughing, and said, "My dear old man, are you mad? How can you say your heart is beautiful?"
"Dear boy. Did you see the scars? Each scar represents(代表) the love I shared with a person. I share a piece of my heart with others when I share love, and in return I get a piece of heart. Since the pieces of heart I shared were neither equal(相等的) nor in the same shape or size, my heart is not in shape. "
The young man stood quietly and did not speak a word. Tears rolled down his face.

My name's Bob. I went to Qingdao on vacation with my family this summer. We went there by bus. We visited Qingdao Polar Ocean World first. We saw many different kinds of fish and other sea animals. It was really interesting. For lunch we had sea food. It was delicious. After lunch, we went to the May Fourth Square. It was beautiful. We took some photos there. Then we went to the beach. It was cool. But there were too many people. We went shopping in the evening, and I bought something interesting for my friends. Everything was excellent. We had a wonderful time there and I hope to go there again.
