Sam Kaplan, 72, is from the USA. The man recently touched many hearts because of his courage and hard work. He got a bachelor's degree(学士学位) in cinema studies more than 50 years after finishing high school.
Kaplan decided to go to college and get a bachelor's degree when he was 68 years old. "I was driving and heard on the radio that Georgia Gwinnett College was offering a degree that included play writing," Kaplan said. "At that moment, an idea flashed into my mind. Then I stopped my car. Five minutes later, I was registering for(报名参加) the class."
However, jumping back into a classroom after so many years wasn't easy for Kaplan. The man in his 60s had to learn how to study all over again. Meanwhile, he needed to learn how to get on with his classmates because they were much younger than him. Kaplan made a plan. Every day he would talk with a new student to learn about their goals at college and dreams for the future. In this way, Kaplan built a good relationship with the other students.
In the following years, Kaplan studied very hard. His performances often surprised his teachers. Finally, he successfully finished college.
"Life is short, and you need to keep moving. You need to keep active and keep learning," Kaplan said. "It's never too late. You can always get what you want if you work hard."
