At age 7, Bi Ye won the great prize at the International Franz Liszt Piano Competition for Children and Youth, becoming youngest winner of the prize. Praised "a little piano genius (天才)" by Lang Lang, Bi Ye is a key student in the Lang Lang International Music Foundation family. Bi Ye (win) eight gold medals since the age of 5.
Like other parents, Bi's parents wanted to do was provide their child with an extra-curricular activity to enrich (使丰富) her early years' (educate). But when Bi's mother learned that playing the piano can make kids (smart) and more determined, she let Bi learn the piano at age 4. Three months later, Bi Ye could play and sing the song "Five Little Ducks".
Five hours of practice might (consider) difficult for a 4-year-old kid, but Bi's mother (happy) found she was having fun with it. "Once she sits in front of the piano, she becomes excited with her fingers (touch) the keyboard," said Bi's mom.
In 2016, Bi stood out from other players and finally got the chance (play) the piano with Lang Lang.
