Accommodation
Get a sense of what it will be like to live on our fabulous campus. Our accommodation trails will guide you to residences which will be open for you to look around from 10:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Many of our current students will also be opening their rooms for viewing and happy to share their experiences of living on campus.

Learn more about our courses by attending department sessions, and speaking to our academics and current students who will contribute to your student experience at the Information Fair from 9:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m. We'd particularly recommend booking onto our "Why Warwick?" session. it is popular so make sure you reserve your place.

If you are fond of leaning languages, you must start learning Chinese. English is the most widely spoken language in the world and it is a more powerful language in all-fields. But it is expected that Chinese, which is one of the six official languages of the United Nations (UN), will be the most important language in the coming years. What are the reasons behind the rapid spread of this language and why should you learn it?
My desire to learn languages was the reason why I studied many Latin languages and in the process, I deepened my knowledge of the languages and literature. However, I did not feel self-sufficient（自给自足的） from this knowledge. I gained a lot of information about the Western world. But my thinking was always about Asian civilizations. I always felt I needed to learn Chinese to be a global citizen because "without learning Chinese, we see with one eye".
My contact with many international organizations and government institutions（机构） made me believe that Chinese is one of the most important languages of our time. After visiting the world's most celebrated capitals such as Paris and London, I discovered that Chinese language can be seen everywhere in these places. In the subway in Paris, you will hear instructions in French, English and Chinese. In London, for example, the Chinese language was introduced for instruction in schools.
China is an important political（政治的） and economic country because it is making great economic progress that has never been seen before. The world is watching China with great surprise, and this peaceful Chinese rise makes us decide to focus on learning the Chinese language and knowing more about Chinese culture.
To be a global citizen these days, I would advise you to learn Chinese. It will add more beauty to your life and allow you to better understand Chinese civilization.
When speaking English, we usually translate words from our native language in our head and it takes us a lot of time just to speak a simple sentence. ? Do you want to speak English fluently and naturally? The following steps will help you.
Step 1:_
Think small first. I mean think in words, only simple words. The learning of your mother tongue starts with simple words like "dad" "table" "blue" and so on. . Try to say everything you see in English, only English. Later, in a conversation, the picture of a real table will directly remind you of the word "table".
Step 2: Think in sentences
This step needs more time and effort. But it's worth it. , such as "It's a table." "I have a table." "The table is blue.", etc. Just do it step by step and day by day. Don't jump to long sentences if you're a beginner. Otherwise, you'll be let down.
Step 3: Think in conversations
. Some suggested topics may be your daily activities:family, friends, school, dream, favorites, and something similar. When you are sure that you can express a complete thought, make conversations with others.

Lucas majors in classic linguistics. He is equal to recognizing a language in a 1 way no matter how unfamiliar it is. Last year, he 2 a shell with some totally strange 3 carved on it at a stall（小摊）.
Based on his demanding 4 he knew it was from a small village. Besides, after 5 many related reference books, he had his point of view:the symbols were 6 as a variety of the writing system of Jiaguwen, a kind of writing system which dates back to 1500 BC.
Lucas had a 7 attitude to the discovery and applied to his university for a further research by visiting the village. With permission given, he visited it. He found the mother tongue of the villagers was a special dialect, whose vocabulary 8 from Mandarin（普通话） spoken by 1.4 billion people.
Despite many 9 , understanding the dialect and finding more shells helped him complete a report. The report was 10 where he gave a full description: The characters 11 by a small nation in the Shang Dynasty were passed down by means of bones and 12 . Afterwards, the nation went through ups and downs, 13 for hundreds of years. But it 14 disappeared due to some factors.
Lucas's report was a 15 in the academic field, attracting more people to these special characters.
English (become) the global language in the last few decades. In today's world, being able to speak English is how you stand out and get ahead.
However, learning English as a foreign language (be) very difficult in the absence of a native language environment. We have little chance to live in an English-speaking country. Therefore, we have to rely on knowledge we can learn at school. Teachers must make sure that there is adequate（充足的）amount of input in English conveyed to the students through (vary) mediums. This input must be of high quality. After all, high quality output (base) on high quality input.
To really get ahead, however, it means (put) in extra work outside of the classroom. Experts say that just 15 minutes of extra-curricular study a day can really speedup foreign language learning. Besides, you need to keep mind why you are learning English. Quite (simple), in today's world, learning English is one of major (factor) leading to a brighter future and a world of possibilities.
