Meilun and Meihuan are twins. They were born at Zoo Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia, in America three years ago. They came back to Sichuan in China 1 November.
The two twins don't seem to get used to the life now. They are2 some culture shock (文化冲击) in their new home. They've never seen3 keepers before.
The transition (过渡期) has been4 for the pandas. They don't seem to care for new food and don't understand our language. Keepers and other workers are5 about the situation. Luo Yunhong, a keeper at the panda research center, told the People's Daily that the twins6 American biscuits so much that they have to put some American biscuits in the food they eat. Luo said he has been7 replacing (替代) the American biscuits with Chinese bread. They think it is a long time to help them8 their old eating habit.
The People's Daily also reported that Meilun and Meihuan can't understand Sichuan dialect (方言),9 they can understand some simple English phrases such as "come here". The keepers are trying to10 them more Chinese in daily life.
Hope the twin pandas can get used to living in China soon.
Turkey was proud of his looks. Every time he walked past the other animals, he would say, "I am so beautiful. Move out of my way!"
The other animals thought Turkey was too proud. They decided to give him a lesson, so Fox wrote a note to invite Turkey to a dance party. When he arrived there, all the animals bowed (鞠躬) and cheered. But, a beautiful peacock (孔雀) showed up behind him at the same time. So they were actually bowing and cheering for the peacock.
When Turkey saw the peacock, he became silent. The other animals began to laugh. "I look like a fool," thought Turkey. He ran out of the house as quickly as he could. And then, no one saw Turkey for several days. Everyone began to feel sorry about what they did. They looked for Turkey everywhere. They didn't want to hurt his feelings. Finally, they found Turkey in an old tree. He looked quite sad.
Peacock flew to Turkey, and said, "Your friends were worried about you. They feel sorry for you." "We are sorry for the joke we played on you, Turkey," the animals said. "I am sorry I was so proud," replied Turkey.

You probably see a lot of things made of plastic, like bottles and bags every day. What happens when that plastic gets thrown away? Scientists say much of it ends up in oceans and causes problems for creatures (生物) like fish and birds.
"Plastic puts ocean creatures in danger," says Allison Schutes of the Ocean Conservancy, a group that works to protect the world's oceans.
A recent study shows that each minute, enough plastic reaches the ocean to fill up a garbage (垃圾) truck! The same study predicts that by the year 2050, our oceans will have more plastic than fish.
All that plastic is bad news for ocean life. Some ocean creatures die when they gettangled in pieces of plastic. Others accidentally eat it and die, too. And many small animals are caught in some bottles and can't get away with them. Most scientists say taking out all the plastic that's already in the ocean would be impossible. Instead, they say the best way is to prevent more plastic from getting there.
Many groups are already taking action. They organize cleanups on beaches to pick up litter before it reaches the ocean. For example, volunteers from the Ocean Conservancy collected more than 16 million pounds of it last year!
Experts also encourage people to use less plastic. Many cities and towns in America have banned plastic shopping bags. Experts also suggest that people drink out of reusable (可重复使用的) bottles and try reusable shopping bags.
"These seem like small things," says Schutes, "but they can help make a big difference."
On May 15, 2023, a 16-year-old girl from Changsha, Hunan Province made new history. Xu Zhuoyuan became the youngest Chinese girl to succeed in reaching the top of Mount Qomolangma. What makes it more meaningful is that the year 2023 marks the 70th Anniversary (周年纪念日) of the first people achieving the impossible dream.
Mountain climbing is one of the world's most dangerous sports, and one of the most popular places for this is Mount Qomolangma. It is about 8,848.86 meters high and so is very dangerous to climb. Thick clouds, heavy snowstorms (暴风雪) and freezing weather conditions make the climbing more difficult. However, these difficulties didn't stop Xu away.
She wanted to challenge herself. She has been training hard to make her dream come true. On April 15, she left Changsha for Nepal (尼泊尔). On April 28, she arrived at the base camp (大本营) and prepared for the huge task. At 10 p. m. Beijing time on May 14, Xu began her journey from Camp 4. The climbing was very hard, and it took her 10 hours to reach the top.
Although she is quite young, Xu has already climbed five mountains over 5,000 meters in China. When she was 12 years old, she said on Hunan TV, "I will climb Qomolangma."
Four years later, she kept her promise. Her spirit shows us that we should challenge ourselves in the face of difficulties. It also shows that we should never give up trying to achieve our dreams.

Nowadays WeChat (微信) is more and more. I often talk to my English friends on WeChat. It helps me speak English better than before. And I can read much on WeChat that can make me know more around. Some also makes me become more careful. Sometimes I feel WeChat isa mirror that helps me see something. However, WeChat brings me some trouble as well. Some friends putof the real things on WeChat to tell what they sell is really good. I am about those advertisements (广告). Because some of them may be not true. As a saying,"Seeing is believing."I know people are cheated (被欺骗)so me messages easily. What's, some news always asks us to send it to others. This often makes me, so I am thinking about using WeChat wisely on my phone again.
