Zephyr is an 8-year-old yellow dog. She walks in a school and even goes to class with students at school in Texas, US.
This school has a guide dog (train) program. It started two years ago. Zephyr
is one of the many dogs that the program trains to help the . In this program, students first work as dogsitters（保姆）that take of dogs. They receive training in Guide Dogs for the Blind, the (large) guide dog school in North America. They
help to look after the dogs for a while before getting a dog of their . Then they start to train the dogs in different environments. The student trainers will work with the dogs (most) for one year.

Qomolangma is the world's highest mountain. You may have learned from your textbooks that its height is 8,844 meters. But not all sides are in agreement on this. Different researchers have give different results. Also, the height of the mountain can change over time.
That's why a 30-member Chinese survey team set out to reach the peak of Qomolangma to re-measure（重新测量）its height on May 6th, 2020.
It is not an easy task. The air temperature on the mountain is -29℃ — four degrees lower than in Antarctica — and strong winds blow all the time. In such bad conditions, surveying drones（无人机）cannot work at the peak of the mountain. That's why it's still necessary to sendhuman experts to the peak to get reliable（可靠的）results. But does a difference of a few meters really matter when it comes to a high mountain?
In fact, measuring the height of Qomolangma is about more than just getting one exact（确切的）number. Mount Qomolangma is at the point where the Eurasian plate（欧亚板块）meets the Indian plate. It formed 38 million years ago as the two plates hit each other. Changes in the peak's height can show whether the two plates are heading toward or away from each other. This can help us understand the movement of Earth's crust（地壳）.
The survey team will also get firsthand information about environmental conditions at the top of the mountain. This will help us understand how climate（气候）change has affected（影 响）the Tibet-Qinghai Plateau.
Facing social anxiety（社交恐惧症）
Do you have any experiences like these? When the teacher asks if someone could speak in
front of the class, you low your head. When you go to the restroom or dining hall, you always try to find someone to go with you because you are afraid of being seen alone.
Well, many people have these kinds of experiences. They are feeling social anxiety, or worrying about things like talking, going to a party or being the center of attention. A recent survey from China Youth Daily showed that about 45 percent of the 1,544 interviewees（受访者）said they experienced social anxiety.
Stefan G. Hofmann, an expert from Boston University, the US said that social anxiety is probably “a result of the fear that we will not be welcome”. For Chinese kids, there's another reason for their anxiety. Shu Man from East China Jiaotong University said, “Most of them are the only child in their families, so they don't have many chances to practice their social skills.”
“However, you don't have to worry too much about social anxiety. You only need to get help from a doctor if you can't live a normal life,” said Li Songwei from Tsinghua University. Shu Man advised that you should go to public places more often and try thinking about something happy when you are really nervous.
Some years ago, our head teacher Mrs. Waters, decided to start a school newspaper and get some students to do it.We liked her idea.
Some of my friends joined the newspaper team soon. I'd always loved creative writing and drawing cartoons, so I joined the team too.They thought I was doing something meaningful and creative. And they often came along to give me advice.
My first job was writing a report about a sports event.Dad told me it was similar in some ways to writing a story — getting information in the right order. With his help, I did a good job on my report. Sometimes the team didn't use what I'd written or my cartoons, but I didn't mind.

I've just spent a year as a volunteer in Uganda. And it has made a big difference to my life. I had lived a very quiet life in England. I had never left the country, never been on a plane even. And suddenly there I was on a plane and landed at Entebbe Airport in 40℃. I was met by an old man, and then taken into the bush. It was quite an amazing change — not like anything I had ever met in England.
In fact, at the beginning I was very homesick and I just wanted to go back to England, to my friends and family and the life I knew so well. But very quickly I became very interested in what I was doing and by what I was able to offer. People had so little there, and I was able to help them in some ways. It completely changed my life.
The people I was with didn't have much money, but their lives were rich in other ways —family life was very important. But living in the bush was difficult; we were fifteen miles from the nearest post box and fifteen miles from the nearest road. The village was right on the banks of the Nile.
I worked as a doctor seeing about sixty people a day in a small village. The main problem was that there were almost no resources（资源）. That made the work very difficult. But there were good things too. I made some very good friends during my time in Uganda.
