Do you want to buy a new pair of sunglasses? The latest CD? Or something you're your dinner this evening? Nowadays, you can shop by telephone, by post or through your home computer. But for many people, the most exciting way to shop is also the most traditional-at a street market. You can find markets anywhere in the world. People in different places have their own favorites. Here are some of them:
Every weekend, thousands of young people from all over London travel to Camden Market in an attractive area in the north of the city—it's the place to go for street fashion, jewellery, CDs and tapes.. but many people just go for the lively atmosphere (氛围)!
There are many "floating markets" in Asia. Perhaps the most famous is in Thailand, at a place called Damnoen Saduak, 100 km from the capital city, Bangkok. From six in the morning to midday, people sell fresh fruit and vegetables from their boats every day.
Many Belgians (比利时人) say that the Grand Place in the center of the capital city, Brussels, is the most beautiful square in the world. It is the home of a colorful flower market- open every day except Monday. On Monday, instead of flowers, there's a wonderful bird market!
The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, Turkey, is more than 500 years old and it has more than 4,000 shops under one roof (屋檐)!You can buy almost anything. It's open all day every day!
And one of the world's most unusual markets is in Mexico City, at the Sonora Market. As well as toys and birds, you can buy natural medicines which (they say) can help with any health problem!
Last weekend, somebody bought a lottery ticket (彩票). He (choose) all the right numbers and won $200,000. What a lucky man! Or (probable) not.
In the 1970s at the University of Illinois, some (science) studied people who won lotteries. The results (be) interesting. The winners only felt happy for a short time. soon after that, their life was just like the old days and they didn't feel (happy) than before. A similar study by the University of California in 2008 gave same results. They looked at lottery winners six months after their win and were surprised (find) their feelings back to normal. And if the winner is not lucky enough, a big lottery win would bring problems. Alex Toth, example, won $13 million in 1990. He (stop) working, spent the money quickly and had terrible fights with his family and friends.
The game was over. The Bears shouted and jumped. They had just 1 the most important game of the year. All the players were 2 but not Molly, the captain (队长).
Today's win meant they now could play in a bigger competition in San Diego. But the Bears don't have enough 3 for the trip to San Diego.
They decided to go to sports stores around town and ask if anyone would 4 them. Molly went to Soccer Locker.
"I'd love to help, but we don't have enough money. I'm 5 ," said the owner.
The other Bears had the same bad news. 6 had the money to help them!
"What if we call the newspaper?" Molly asked her father.
"7 ," said her dad. The next day, Molly and her dad met Tina, the sports 8 . Tina agreed to write a story about the Bears and it came out in Thursday's newspaper.
On 9 morning, Molly got a phone call from AI. "Molly? This is AI from AI's Choppers. I just read your 10 yesterday. We want to give help," said AI. "When I was your 11 , I was a pretty good soccer player, and I was the captain of my team."
"Just 12 me!" shouted Molly.
"We have already started preparing a big 13 for the Bears," said AI.
The Bears couldn't believe their eyes 14 they saw AI's workers painting a bus in the Bears' team colors the next day. It looked wonderful!
The next Saturday, the Bears all got on the 15 for San Diego. On the bus, Molly could not stop smiling. They had found a way to get to the big game in San Diego.

Hello everyone! My name is Mike Brown. I'm an English boy. My family are all in Beijing now. There are four people in my family. They are my parents, sister and me.
My father and mother are English teachers in a middle school in Beijing. I have a sister, but I don't have a brother. We are in our parents' school. I like Chinese food because they are delicious. I have noodles, eggs and milk for breakfast every day. All the students eat lunch at school. We usually have rice, chicken, fish and vegetables. Dinner is a big meal, and I always eat a lot.
I like Chinese very much, but I think it is very difficult. It is very different from English. I think spelling is the most difficult for me. When I have any questions, I always ask my teacher and classmates for help. My Chinese teacher Lin Fang is a good teacher. She is very kind to me and often helps me with my Chinese. She gives me some Chinese CDs and teaches me how to spell and read. I'm happy I can speak some Chinese now. I love my teacher! And I thank her very much.
