What's more, people with hearing disabilities can also benefit(获益), as speech recognition software can be used to "listen" to spoken words and turn them into text that deaf people can read.

Zhang Guimei, the principal of Huaping High School for girls, has been honored with the title "Role Model of the Times" recently. The school she set up in 2008 free education for the girls from poor families in Yunnan. She has sent more than 1800 to colleges and universities so far.

Anybody who knows Zhang's own conditions will be more deeply moved by her. She has no personal property(财产), and has been living in the student dormitory since its founding. On WeChat, a mini-program called "Clear Plate" invites people to exchange pictures of their empty plates for credit points(信用分). People can use the credit to buy things or give food to children in poor areas.

"We hope our efforts can start a new trend among the younger generation, encouraging them to carry out the virtue(美德) of cherishing food and developing the habit of thrift," said Liu Jichen, developer of the mini-program.
