On June 28th, 2023, a lady named Dong Lina gave a speech at the graduation ceremony of the Communication University of China. She encouraged everyone to follow their dreams, love what they do, stay grounded and feel responsible toward their country, society and the world. What makes it more inspiring is that Dong is visually impaired and the first visually impaired (视障) student in China to receive a master's degree in Broadcasting and Hosting Art (播音与主持艺术).
Dong was born in Dalian and lost her sight (视力) when she was ten. She completed her education at a school for people like her in Dalian and read hundreds of Braille (不拉耶盲文) books in her free time. Later, she studied traditional Chinese medicine and then worked as a massage therapist.
In 2006, Dong had the chance to study broadcasting and hosting. She realized the power of the human voice and fell in love with broadcasting. Since then, Dong has been practicing her pronunciation by reading Braille materials almost all the time. After that, she went to college and received a bachelor's degree (学士学位) in broadcasting and hosting. In 2019, she continued her studies and set her mind on a master's degree in Broadcasting and Hosting Art at the Communication University of China.
Even though she faced challenges, Dong always has a guiding light in her heart. She held on to her dreams and always worked hard, even when things were difficult. "There's something people haven't tried before," said Dong, "you can be the one to show everyone how it's done!"

Now, studying online has become a common way of learning. The biggest difference between studying online and studying in school is that our teachers can't ▲ us all the time, so we should be able to control ourselves. I didn't know this at first. During our online classes, I often got distracted by my mobile phone.
For this reason, I didn't do well in the midterm exam. At that time, I realized that I had to do something to improve my online study habits, so I made up my mind to concentrate (集中注 意力) on the online classes. Finally, I made much progress in the final exam.
Now I want to offer you some ways I used to improve my learning during the online classes. Firstly, make a list of what you should do and what you shouldn't do. Try your best to follow it. Don't set your aims too high at first, because proper aims can help you to make the list work. Secondly, keep your mobile phones out of your reach when you study. Give them to your parents if necessary. Thirdly, make efforts to review and overcome your shortcomings in the process of review. You can ask your teachers for help or work with your classmates.
In general, we should stick to keeping good learning habits all the time. I hope that all students can study better both online and offline.
①setting a high aim at the beginning of his learning
② making a list of what he should do and what he shouldn't do
③ making efforts to review and overcome his shortcoming
④keeping the mobile phones away from him when he studied
