We experienced a special period in 2020. Xu Yi, a middle school student from Hubei, told something (interest) to us. Let's check out his story and resolution for the new term.

When Xu Yi was learning English as exchange student in the UK, his English friend (invite) him to take a Chinese culture course. Then, at 9: 30 a. m. the next day, it finally came. He followed the friend to the classroom and was welcomed her classmates. They gave him (present), which moved and excited him.

The lesson was about an ancient Chinese character (字体)called Xiaozhuan. The teacher (clear) explained it from its history to development, how it worked in society and why it was so popular in the Qin Dynasty. She also taught the differences between Xiaozhuan the modern Chinese character.

On the one hand, Xu Yi takes pride in Chinese culture. On the other hand, it's a shame that he knows almost nothing about it. As the culture (reach) the world, the Chinese should study more about it. As a senior high school student, he is going to read as many (book) as possible to open his mind. He hopes every Chinese person will love and (valuable) Chinese culture. After all, everyone is responsible for building and keeping it.

When Ariel rode her bike to the riverside, last November, she planned to go hiking and bird-watching. Bingo! A mile into her walk, she a beautiful swan(天鹅) lying near the riverside. Ariel had worked at the Wild Bird Fund rehab center (康复中心) and knew that swans can be aggressive(攻击性的). But as she got close to this one, she found that it was hurt. "I it, or it will die," she thought.

Ariel put her jacket over the bird's head it calm. She gently picked it up, and held it in her arms. And then she thought, "What do I do now?" Her best choice the rehab center, but that was across the river and on the other side of the city. How was she going to transport a 17-pound swan on her bike all that way? Luckily, when she around for help, some strangers drove by and offered her, her bike and the swan a ride to a nearby subway station.

Ariel called the rehab center on the way, and an animal-care manager picked her up at the subway station and drove the bird, the bike and her to the center. There, the swan , treated and taken good care of. By now, the bird many swan friends there, and it is living a happy life. It's really a happy ending.

 The real story is just how far some people are willing to go to save a swan in the big city. In all, Ariel spent two hours on foot, by car and subway. "If an animal is in danger, I whatever I can. I always happy because of this," she said.
