Tips for incoming freshman in High school

    I never really knew exactly how I felt about starting high school. While I was excited to make new friends and learn new things, I was also very nervous about finding my way around. I knew it would be d to get used to a new life, but there really isn't much to fear! So, for all those new incoming freshmen out there, I'm here to help you make it through your first year of high school!

    Here is just a list of some of the things I found helpful throughout my first year.

    1) Remember, you aren't a. There are hundreds of teens experiencing what you are experiencing this very moment! Although you may feel a million different things, just keep in m that there are people that are feeling the same way.

    2) Don't be afraid to make new friends. There are many people who s the same interests as you and are looking for those who have that interest. Sometimes you may have nothing in common but the need to make friends! Remember, there are plenty of teens out there for you.

    3) Join an interesting club or sport. High school is the time to tnew things, and luckily your school has so much to offer! There are so many clubs to choose from, like the environmental club, Spanish club, cooking club, and so many more! Many schools also offer a wide variety of sports, i a freshman level! Joining a club or sport is also a great way to meet people!

    See? It really isn't that hard! Knowing these things will hopefully make you feel a little more cabout your freshman year of high school. Just keep your head held high and enjoy it while you can!

Dunhuang is a historic city in Gansu. In ancient times, Dunhuang was an important c of trade. As the Silk Road developed, Dunhuang became China's western gateway to the world. Here, different cultures met and influenced each other. People from f countries did business and communicated with the local people.

The movie Home Coming took the lead in the box office during the National Day holiday. 

It tells a story that took place in North Africa. After a war breaks out there, two Chinese diplomats（外交官）are o to help evacuate（撤离）the overseas Chinese. After completing the first task successfully, they learn that another group of Chinese citizens is still in great d. Realising that these people will die if they don't give a hand, the two men travel through the war area. They r their lives to help over 100 Chinese citizens go to a safe place. The movie not only shows how the two diplomats protect the people w courage, but also shows their deep love for the country and people.

Home Coming reminds many people of a similar real event which truly h in Libya in 2011. Chinese Embassy helped the evacuation of more than 30,000 Chinese citizens. Behind this event were many e of Chinese diplomats. After watching the film, a man recalled his personal e 11 years ago. "We are the lucky ones b we have a strong country and are well protected," he said.

Home Coming is a hit partly because of the growing national pride and c Chinese people have in our country. A review reads, "Chinese passport might not get you anywhere you want, but it can always b you back home. "

Row Boats in the Park

I keep a number of lists about things I want to do, places I want to see, and food I want to eat. And for a long time — nearly seven years — rowing boats in the park has always been the thing on my lists.

Somehow, checking this one off the list always meant that many things had to be just right: the right weather, a free day, and childcare-free.

Well, to my and happiness, all three of those things did come together on my birthday morning! After breakfast, Jordan and I made our way to the park .

the autumn colors weren't yet at their peak(峰值), the autumn scenery(风景) was still great to see. It was , and the wind was soft and gentle. Our limited(有限的) row-boating skills gave us reasons to laugh at .

We made our way past the trees, under the bridge, and into the lake. The water was still and clear a mirror(镜子) under the boat, in which we can see the reflections(倒影) of the boat and our smiling . 

Everything was fun as I imagined. I can't think of a way to get relaxed on my birthday than this.

"Have you decided to do next on your lists?" Jordan asked me.

"I have to think it over," I replied.

"Take your time," Jordan said to me, "I will always be here."
