Normally, we are taught that the process is more important than the result. If you fail in tests, competitions, or games, people will comfort you, telling you that you have tried your best and you should be satisfied with that. But should it be so?
In general, this might be right: Paying more attention to the process can make us feel more confident, and after this experience, we can challenge ourselves to become better.
In my case, the result is as important as the process. Everyone wants to come out on top when taking part in competitions, but there will always be people who work hard and still don't get a good result. It can be painful for them to cheer for their efforts after they fail.
But failure can make us want to keep going on. If we are worried about the results, it means that we still have the wish of self-improvement.
What's more, it is important to learn from failure. "You have done your best" can be quite misleading if it is not a fact. It is saying that there must be something wrong in our process. And the valuable experience comes from realizing the mistake and correcting it. We will learn a lot no matter we win or lose. Whether we can succeed depends on our attitude(态度).
In a word, the process and the result are both important. Learn from both of them, and they can help us become better.
