In my opinion, the generation gap(代沟） is a result of our"pride"and"prejudice(偏见)".
Since I entered junior high school, my parents and I have had different 1 . Neither they nor I am willing to yield (愿意让步). My mother always starts 2 telling me that, "A child knows nothing about this!", and I often end up saying as a 3 ,"Are you still living in the 20th 4 ?"
As we grow from children into young adults, we have been forming our 5 values and beliefs(价值观和信念) slowly. Given the fact that we are growing up in a century that is quite 6 from the one in which our parents grew up, it is only7 for us to have developed values which are different from those of our parents.
But our parents still always 8 us as little kids. It 9 that they aren't willing to accept the fact that we are growing up. So they have trouble 10 the reality（现实）of it. During adolescence (青春期), we feel a strong need to express 11 , but our parents are often unwilling to listen to us. Instead, they think they are always 12 and we are wrong according to their experience. Why is it 13 that they are unable to open their hearts and communicate more with their children so that their children can feel loved and 14 ?
I think both sides must 15 their pride and prejudice and build equality(平等) and each other's trust. Only in this way will the generation gap be narrowed(变窄).
