Stamp collecting is perhaps the most popular hobby in the world. 1 people have been collecting stamps from different countries, for different reasons and in different ways.
I collect stamps from Singapore, Malaysia, Canada and the UK only. I 2 collect stamps from every country because there are too many. Some countries have hundreds of new stamps every 3.
My father and sister work in offices, 4 sometimes they bring foreign stamps home. If I don't want a stamp, I try to swap (交换) it with a friend. I don't 5 any stamps because they cost too much money.
Most of my stamps aren't 6 ones. They are usually stuck on paper at first. I have to get the stamps off the paper 7 damaging (毁坏) them. 8 wants to collect damaged stamps. I put the stamps into water in a bowl. After ten to twenty minutes, the water makes the paper 9. Then it is 10 to peel off (剥落) the stamps carefully and let them dry. After that, I put them in one of my stamp albums (集邮册) . I have 11 albums, one for each country. I can 12 many things from my stamps. They make my school subjects 13. They show me what birds, animals and plants there are in a country. They let me 14 about the people and events in different countries. Some old stamps are very valuable. Perhaps one day some of my stamps will be 15, too.

Her mother said, "Well every time you do something wrong and make me cry or angry, one of my hairs turns grey."
The girl thought for a while and then said, "Mom, why are all of Grandma's hairs grey?"
Passage Three: The big head son
"Mom, many kids make fun of me," the boy cried to his mother, "They say I have a big head."
"Don't listen to them." His mother said, "You have a beautiful head. Now stop crying and go to the supermarket for 10 pounds of potatoes."
"Where's the shopping bag?"
"I haven't got one. Er, use your hat."

Mrs. Tan was feeling nervous because her son Tom's exam was coming. This was his national exam and they did not know what to expect. Tom's weakest subject was Chinese. So Mrs Tan had found a private teacher to give him extra lessons to improve his Chinese. Tom, on the other hand, was not showing any interest in the subject. He thought that the extra lessons would not be helpful to his grades at all. So he didn't put much effort into the lesson.
One day after Tom's Chinese lesson, his teacher spoke to Mrs. Tan. She said that Tom was showing a callous attitude (冷漠的态度) to his work. She was worried about that he might not pass his Chinese exam if he continued being like this. She had no idea that the situation was becoming so terrible. She told the teacher that she would have a word with Tom about it.
That evening, both Mr. and Mrs. Tan sat down with Tom and talked to him. They wanted to know why his attitude was so bad. They managed not to scold him but instead, talked to him kindly. At first, Tom said nothing. Then, he slowly told them he did not understand his lessons. He said that the teacher's pace (速度) of lesson was too fast for him. Mrs. Tan then advised him to speak up if it happened the next time so that his teacher could slow down. In addition, Mrs. Tan would let his teacher know that she needed to slow down her lessons a little.
After that heart-to-heart discussion with Tom, the situation improved. His teacher taught him at a pace that was comfortable to him and he in turn, would speak up and ask questions whenever he had problems.
By the time Tom sat for his exam, he was feeling more confident. When his results came out, he was excited as he had improved a lot in Chinese. Both his parents as well as his private teacher were very proud of him. It goes to show that with an effort, all things are possible.

•Mind your meals

Each day take a 40-minute walk. Make time to practise some other exercise, such as yoga and Taiji. They provide us with daily energy for our busy lives. Try to smile and make at least three people smile each day.
•Forget and forgive (原谅)
Problems appear sometimes and they simply stay for a short time. Forget what happened in the past. Don't always think of your past mistakes. Make peace with your past in order that it won't destroy your present happiness. Life is not very long, so we shouldn't waste time hating anyone. Forgive everyone for everything.
•Also do such things
Call your family often and stay in touch with your friends．Each day give something good to others. Cheer up no matter how you feel. Read more books than you did before and you can learn more from them. Don't compare your life to others'.
