Running is becoming popular these days. Many of us run for health. Doctors say many health problems come from these bad habits:eating and drinking too much, smoking and not taking enough exercise. Doctors tell us, "Eat and drink less, don't smoke, and exercise more. "
Running is a good form of exercise because it helps build a strong heart . It also helps most people lose weight. One 68﹣year﹣old woman runs three times a week. "I love to eat," she says. She runs to lose weight.
Running is good for health in other ways, too. Many runners say running keeps colds and other small health problems away. "Running is my doctor, " says one man.
Running can also help people to relax. So today men and women of all ages enjoy running.
When he was a teenager,Hunter Adams was very unhappy and he spent many years in a special hospital for people who had mental(心理的) health problems.
When he left the hospital,Adams decided to become a doctor,so he went to a medical school in Virginia, the US make them feel relaxed. The doctors at the medical school didn't like Adams because he was too different.
But Adams believed that patients need more than just treatment. He tried to cheer them up. He spent a lot of time with the children in the hospital and often dressed up like a clown to make the children laugh.
When he finished medical school and became a doctor,Adams established his own hospital, called "the Gesundheit!Institute",together with some other doctors. They wanted it to be a place with a different way of working with sick people.
Hunter Adams became famous during the 1980s,and in 1998,Universal Pictures made a film about his life. It was very successful. In the film,Robin Williams played Adams. Williams said, "Hunter is a really warm person, who believes that patients need a doctor who can be their friend. I enjoyed playing him. "

Tony is a 16﹣year﹣old boy and he studies in a high school. His parents tell him to study hard and they do everything for him. They wake him up at 6:00 a. m. and after breakfast his father takes him to school by car. As soon as the young man comes home from school, the dinner is ready. Of course,he never does chores.
Once,Tony 's father would go to London on business(生意) for a year. Before leaving,he told his wife to look after their son well. The woman had to get up earlier and did all what her husband did before. Two months later, she was so tired that she was ill. The young man got into trouble right away. He couldn't do. housework. Even he didn't know where to get on the bus.
Yesterday Tony's mother found his shoes were worn out(穿烂了)and told him to buy a new pair. But he didn't know how to choose right shoes. The woman had a sigh(叹息),gave him a shoe pattern(鞋样)and told him to buy shoes himself. With a policeman's help,he found a shop. The shopkeeper(店主)brought some shoes and asked him to choose. When he was trying on a pair, suddenly,he remembered something and took them off. The man was surprised and asked,"What's wrong?" "I'm sorry. I've left my shoe pattern at home. "
Mary is a kind girl. From middle school to college, she volunteered to help many people. She often goes to the hospital to 1 the sick people on weekends. And she really felt2 because she understands that true happiness comes from helping3 .
For three years,Mary went to a primary school once a week to 4 some pupils with math and English. She can still remember the5 of being a teacher. Most of all,she was happy that the pupils did very6 in the math tests.
She felt good to be7 the children. They liked to tell her their dreams or future plans. She became not only their after school 8 but also their best friend.
Looking back now,she learned much9 from the three years' experience than she gave to the children. She's planning 10 on volunteering in the future ,because she knows it'll bring her more happiness.
At the age of four, our kids began to help us with the housework. They helped 1 their pets and clean the house. Now Tate can make her bed, 2 her clothes and set (布置)the table. Last week, she even helped me 3 . We were happy because it was delicious.
I like getting kids to start early for a few 4 . First,it is fun for kids to help. Kids like to work 5 the same things as their parents do. They want to stay with their parents but to do things by themselves. It's a good time to 6 them to help you when you are busy. Second,it's never too 7 for them to learn some things 8 . having kids do chores is not robbing (剥夺)their playing time. 9 make(s) them know the joy of working. 10 ,it does help. I feel that Tate likes doing chores and she helps me a lot.
Most of us probably don't like doing housework. And most of us think that (clean)the bathroom or cooking dinner for the family makes us tired. However, the fact is that someone has to (do)it. Most of the time, our parents have to do the housework. Is it (real)fair(公平的)?
Doing housework is really not as (bad)as it sounds. If we all do our part,it (seem)less annoying. Why should your mother have to wash your dirty clothes? You are able (take)care of yourself. Doing some housework will show that you are (become)more and more independent.
Some of us may think that we are too busy to do housework. But most parents work all day and are then expected (keep)a clean house!Dividing housework among the whole family will make everyone's job much (easy).
Please remember:Learning (do)housework can provide you with valuable skills for the future.
Can you imagine a life without arms or legs? Now let me introduce a disabled man named Nick for you.
Nick ,an Australian ,was born without limbs(四肢),so life was not easy for him. At school many students played jokes on him. Because he looked different from everyone else, many students refused to be friends with him. So he always felt lonely. However,he faced that bravely. He learned to type on the computer with two toes(脚趾)at the age of six,and he could even surf and play golf. In college,he achieved great success and was one of the excellent students in the study. What's more,Nick also encouraged others to work hard for their dreams.
Now Nick is one of the most popular speakers in the world. He travels to many countries and give speeches about his story against difficulties. " A meaningful life is about looking at what you have, not what you don't have. "he said. His story encouraged millions of people.
