What Do No. 5 High School Students Do in Their Free Time?
Last month we asked our students about their free time activities. Our questions1 about exercise, use of the Internet and watching TV. Here are the results.
We found that only fifteen percent of our students exercise every day. Forty-five percent exercise four2 six times a week. Twenty percent exercise only one to three3 a week. And twenty percent do not exercise at all!
We all know that many students often4 online, but we were surprised that ninety percent of them use the Internet every day. The other ten percent use it at least three or four times a week. Most students use it for fun and not for homework.
The answers to our questions about watching television were also interesting. Only two percent of the students watch TV one to three times a week. Thirteen percent5 TV four to six times a week. And eighty-five percent watch TV every day!6 many students like to watch sports, game shows are7 most popular.
8 is good to relax by using the Internet or watching game shows, but we think the9 way to relax is through exercise. It is10 for the mind and the body. Exercise such as playing sports is fun, and you can spend time with your friends and family as you play together. And remember, "Old habits die hard. " So start exercising before it's too late!

Carrie is now living in Beijing. She came to China at the age of 7. When she came, she wasn't very happy. Then all the teachers and her classmates were very kind to her and helped her. The Amazon River begins in the Andes Mountains in South America. It passes through six countries. The Amazon is the second longest river in the world. But the Amazon has more water in it than any other river. That is why it is called the world's biggest river.

So some people who live beside the river build their houses on rafts.
There are millions of fish in the Amazon River. One of these is the piranha(水虎鱼) with its very sharp teeth. Piranhas hunt in group. They usually eat other fish, but sometimes they attack large animals or even people.

Businessmen couldn't become officers at that time. So he tried to get to know the important people in Chang'an. But he did something wrong and had to leave Chang'an. Li's life was hard. His dream to be an officer never came true, but his poems stay with us.
①When you feel a little sleepy after lunch, don't reach for a coffee! Instead, take a nap. There are many benefits of a daily nap. You remember things better and make fewer mistakes. You can learn things more easily after taking a nap.
② Do you know how to do it better? The following simple rules may be helpful.
③Firstly, take a nap in the middle of the day, about eight hours after you wake up.

"Zero calories (卡路里) can't put on weight. " Diet soft drinks are often advertised in this way. But are they really a good choice?
Some people think diet soft drinks are healthier because they don't have sugar or calories. They think drinking these drinks can help them lose weight.
In fact, diet soft drinks do have some sugar, although very little. Usually, when there is 0. 5 grams (克) of sugar or less in a 100 gram drink, we call it a diet soft drink.
Although they have little sugar, diet soft drinks still taste sweet by using artificial sweeteners (人工甜味剂). They have very few calories.
But when you eat sweet-tasting things like sugar, it hits your brain and makes you want more. Your brain tells your body to prepare itself for more sugar. When you drink a diet soft drink, the brain receives the "sweet signal (信号)", but no sugar arrives. Since the brain is fooled, it still wants more sweets.
Some people drink diet soft drinks and they don't drink water. This is not a good choice. Diet soft drinks can make your teeth bad and let you not want to eat. The additives (添加剂) in these drinks are not good for you either.

There are also robots on the bus. You can talk to them and ask them for. If there is a thief on the bus, the bus will the police.
