Last year, Jiang Xi made online videos(网络视频) of her practising Baduanjin. It is a traditional(传统的) way to keep healthy in China and it started about 800 years ago. In four weeks, over 10,000 people watched the videos. Most of them were young people between 20 years old and 30 years old.
Every weekend, a group of young people practice Baduanjin next to the lake in Xiaogang Park of Guangzhou. Feng Junhua, the organizer(组织者), finds a good place in the park to bring peace(平静) to them. Now more and more young people become interested in Baduanjin, because it is relaxing and easy to practice.
Baduanjin is not only popular with young people in China, but also becomes famous(出名的) around the world. " It was exciting for me to perform Baduanjin in front of so many people." said Liu.
Early in September, I wanted to run for the monitor(班长) in the class election(选举). I enjoyed speaking in front of many people and was always friendly to others, so I thought it was1 for me to be a monitor.
I kept working hard for my election in the following(接下来的)2 . I put up my posters(海报) in the classroom. I also spent hours on my3 , saying that when anyone of my classmates had a(n)4 , he/she could always ask me for help. I felt quite sure about the election because I prepared(准备) it5 .
But when I gave my talk on Election Day in late September, it wasn't what I thought. Things were6 . When I gave my talk, most of my classmates were not listening because it was too long. They were just doing their homework. But when it was time for another classmate, everyone7 his name and cheered(欢呼). His talk was short, but with a lot of8 ideas. Soon he finished his talk. At that time, I knew I was out.
