This happened (发生) about two years ago. I studied in England and went to an art festival in France with my Chinese friends. The festival would last (持续) five days.
When we arrived, the weather was very hot and sunny, so we went to the mountain for camping. But in the mountain the weather changed (变化). At first we didn't worry about it, but when the night came, it started to rain heavily and there was a strong wind. It was a terrible storm. Soon water started coming into the tent. In the end, we had to leave and take our things to a hotel. There were too many people in the hotel and there weren't any rooms for us. At last, we slept in the dining room. We slept badly and listened to the wind and rain that night. The next morning the rain stopped and it was sunny again. But our tent wasn't there. The wind blew it away at night.
Long long ago, there was a poor woman living in a small village. Everyone there didn't like her because she always shouted at others. And she thought the rage (愤怒) inside her was from others.
She went to a smart man to ask for help. The man asked her to take a large jug of water and stand outside. The man told her, "When people walk by, give them a glass of water. You can only stop doing this when you think you feel really good."
So, she stood outside to give water to people every day. One day, a dirty man got the jug from her hand and drank the water quickly. Then he put the jug on the ground without thanks. The unhappy woman got the jug and hit (打) the man. The man didn't feel very well. The woman was scared and she called the hospital quickly. Luckily, the doctors saved the man and the police came quickly. To her surprise, the man was a criminal and the police thanked her so much.
In the end, the woman came back to the smart man happily and told him, "Life begins with small things and it goes on no matter how happy or unhappy you are." From then on, she began to do things for her villagers, and the villagers became friendly to her.

I had a summer camp with my classmates last year. Early in the morning, we got to our school first. The driver was friendly and it took us more than two hours to arrive at the camping place.
We got off the bus happily, laughing and shouting. We jumped and ran all over the place. It was the first time for us to leave our parents. Some of us started to feel homesick (想家).
The next day, everybody ran to the boating class, wishing to be at the head of the others. At first, my friends and I worked hard but the boat wouldn't listen to us and kept going around. After many tries, we did much better.
Swimming class was my favorite. The swimming teacher was a funny man, and during the class he often made us laugh happily.
I also learned how to take care of myself (照顾我自己).
A. It was cool to stay in the water on a hot day. B. Along the way, we saw lots of flowers and trees. C. After saying goodbye to our parents, we got on the bus. D. Then the teacher taught us how to work with each other. E. During the week I learned a lot and made many new friends. F. But when the night party and dances started, we felt excited again. |
Lily and I both had a great weekend. Saturday morning, we went fishing with my father by a lake. The lake was not big, so at first we thought there was no fish in it. But I was so (surprise) when my dad caught a big fish five minutes later. It kept (jump) up and down. We had about five fish before we went home.
At noon, Mom cooked some and the fish (be) delicious. After lunch, we felt so tired all of us went to bed. Lily and I (wake) up at about 3:00 p.m. Then we started to do our homework. We finished our homework before dinner.
On Sunday, we went to the old people's home with Tom, Sam and Lisa. We talked and played games with the old people. They were happy to see so many young (visit). They told us funny story. It was about a family of (mouse). The father mouse in the family was very smart and he could speak the cat's language. It was (interest).
My grandpa lived by himself in the countryside. Last week he called me and asked me to spend my vacation with him. He said it was very cool there in summer. To get away from hot days, I was excited and quickly answered, "I'm going to visit you when our summer vacation starts."
It was July 5th. My parents took me to the supermarket and we bought some delicious food. They told me to take it to grandpa. The next early morning Dad took me to the train station. The train left at six thirty. It was the first time for me to have a trip by myself. I stayed awake all the time.
At four in the afternoon my train arrived at a station. I saw my grandpa standing outside. I got off the train and ran to him. He was happy to see me. His village is about three kilometers from the station. When we were walking there, we started talking about different things, like my school lessons, my parents' jobs and his farm work. I found the nature was beautiful. Along the way, I saw green trees and colorful flowers. The mountains were high and green. I wasn't tired at all.
