Mack, a 17-year-old pilot broke the Guinness (吉尼斯) World Record for the youngest male to fly around the world.
That record had been held by Travis Ludlow, 1was 18 when he made his flight around the world last year. Mack's sister Zara, finished 2own around-the-world flight in January at19. She 3set the record as the youngest woman to fly alone around the world.
From March 23, Mack flew through 52 countries across five continents.4a mark recognized by the Guinness World Records, he crossed the equator twice.
Mack was born into a family of fliers. He earned his pilot's license in 2020, becoming the youngest pilot in the world at the age of 15.
His trip around the world started in Sofia on a plane owned by 5 internet company. The plane, called Shark, can travel 6 the speed of 300 kilometers per hour. Normally, there 7two seats in it. But the plane was changed for his long trip by 8 the second seat with an extra fuel container.
Mack first planned to make the trip in three months.9, it lasted longer because of several problems, including rainstorms, sandstorms and extreme heat. Most of the delays(延误)10 by waiting for permits and required documents.
The flight took him quite a long time.11Wednesday, a huge crowd of people welcomed Mack and celebrated his achievements. His father, Sam, said he was extremely 12and proud of his children's achievements. He told reporters that such an event helps show 13children that they should follow their dreams.
"While he14, I constantly tried to keep in touch and help him," Zara said. "Our parents called him every day, and I joined in those conversations. I gave him advice about the route on the flight, so that I15 be useful to him."
It is going to be my father's birthday. What can I give him? I don't have much money. I have looked all through the 1 in the town and I have not found anything that he would like or that I can afford. I have thought very hard about what to buy for him. I thought maybe I could send him some 2, but my father really doesn't eat many sweets. A new car or computer was too 3, I don't have enough money.
I was4 him on the weekend. He cut the grass, washed the car, and took out the garbage. I got a(an) 5 . I cut out pieces of paper and I wrote something on them. I wrote on one piece of paper that I would wash the car every weekend for the summer. I wrote on another piece that I would6 the garbage every week for the summer. I also wrote that I would cut the grass, and 7 the plants in the garden every week for the summer. I made a birthday card and I put the pieces of paper inside it. I gave my gift to my dad. My dad said, "My dear, this gift is very 8 and it's a gift from the heart." I did all those things for my dad all summer. He told me that he had a great amount of9 time this summer because I helped him so much.
I'm glad my dad liked his gift. A good gift doesn't have to be something that costs a lot. The best gifts are the ones that show how much you10 for the other person.
Meeting Anne
Matthew Cuthbert was on his way to Bright River on his horse and carriage. He was a quiet man who didn't speak much, especially to strangers. So, he
enjoyed the journey and the smell of the apple trees in silence. He reached Bright River but there was no sign of the 5:30 train which he'd come for. Matthew asked the station manager if it would come soon.
"It came half an hour ago," answered the manager. "There was one passenger. She's sitting over there."
"I don't understand. I'm not expecting a girl," said Matthew. "It's a boy that I've come for." "Guess there's some mistake," he said. "Talk to the girl. ▲ That's for sure." Matthew looked at her. She wore an old brown hat which covered two braids of very long,
thick, red hair. Her face was small and thin with lots of freckles(雀斑). Her big green eyes looked back at him.
Matthew began walking over but as soon as she saw him walking her way, she started the conversation.
"I suppose you're Mr. Matthew Cuthbert of Green Gables?" she said in a clear, sweet voice. "I'm Anne. I'm so glad to see you. I was afraid you weren't coming and I was imagining all the things that might have happened to you. If you didn't come for me tonight, I made up my mind to go down the road to that cherry tree at the corner, climb up it and stay all night. I wouldn't be afraid and it would be lovely to sleep in a wild cherry tree all white at night, don't you think?"
This girl was different.
"I'm sorry I'm late," he said shyly. "Come on. Give me your bag."
As they rode home, Anne talked on and on. Normally, too much talking would make Matthew angry, but from Anne, he didn't mind. She apologized but Matthew didn't want her to stop.
"Oh, you can talk as much as you like. I don't mind," said Matthew. "Oh, I'm so glad. I know you and I are going to get along fine."
a. Matthew and Anne rode back together.
b. The station manager asked Matthew to talk with Anne.
c. Matthew reached the train station.
d. Anne started to told Matthew about her thoughts.
e. Anne got off the train at the station in Bright River.

Bicycles have long been used for transportation in China. But recently, cycling has become popular because of the result of restrictions due to the COVID-19
pandemic.
The pandemic has made cycling more popular as officials closed some gymnasiums or places for exercise.
Linda Mo could not exercise indoors in May because of the pandemic
So, she started cycling and soon loved the sport. "I realized a racing bicycle was quite different than a regular bike," she said, adding, "It's very fast and exciting..."
For cyclist Yang Lan, the sport also provides an escape from the daily difficulties of life. "With the pandemic ... it seems to be the only way for us to run away from the terrible city life ..." she said.
Naturally, the growth in cycling has increased the demand for bicycles. Beijing stores' sales rose 20 to 30 percent from March to June, compared to the same period last year. Zhou Fuyuan , the founder of Magic Cycling, said China's bicycle market was a $12 to $15 billion industry in 2021. Research and Markets predict that the sales could reach $16.5 billion by 2026.
Because of increasing demand and worldwide supply chain problems, people must wait weeks or months to get one. For every Specialized bicycle sold in Beijing at least 10 customers are waiting for their bicycles to arrive, Joanna Lei chose to pay more for bicycle available. She said the money was better spent than on a luxury bag. "What you are investing in is your own body and a very good habit," she said. Lei added, "I think it is more valuable than clothes that you wear or handbags that you use."
People will have more choices for sports and entertainment when the pandemic is over. But Feng says he expects cycling to remain popular because of China's growing health concerns and awareness of environmental protection.
"Such a lifestyle is probably healthier and is more beneficial to society," Yang said. She added, "I think people now have a good sense of environmental protection and hope to do good for society."
When is a dollar worth much more than a dollar? When can a mistake make something worth much more? What gets more valuable with age? Numismatic experts love to discuss these questions!
When most people consider the value of paper money, they take a quick look at the face value. (The face value is the value printed on the money itself.) A numismatic expert takes a much closer look!
Becoming a numismatic expert requires attention to details. There are many words, pictures and numbers on each dollar bill. One thing a numismatic expert will consider when looking at paper money is the type of currency (货币). At the top of most U.S. dollars, you will see the words Federal Reserve Note. On a very small number of bills, you may see the words Silver Certificate. Before 1968, a Silver Certificate could be changed for silver. So don't spend that bill because it is probably worth more than a dollar.
Next, a numismatic expert is likely to take a look at the serial numbers on the bill. The serial number is printed both on the bottom left and on the upper right of most U.S. dollars. If the serial numbers do not match, the dollar bill is worth much more than a dollar. Bills with certain serial numbers are also likely to be worth more than their face value. For example, a bill with a repeating serial number, such as 5555555 is in high demand. This makes it worth much more than a dollar. A bill with an asterisk (*) before the serial number notes that there was an error before production of the bill. This asterisk often makes the bill more valuable.
If any of the numbers or pictures on a dollar bill are shifted, not printed exactly where they should be, the value of the bill increases greatly, which makes it have a very high collection value. There is much more to learn about numismatics. If you would like to become a numismatic expert, the first step is to take a closer look at the money that passes through your hands. Good luck!

What is generation gap ( 代 沟 ) ? It's the dbetween parents and children in tastes, values and the way they deal with problems. It is common all over the world.
Teenagers have a swish for freedom. They want to wear cool clothes, have cool hairstyles and talk in a cool way. This dtheir parents mad because they have no idea what their children are thinking about. They may even feel embarrassed when they go out with their children. However, if parents don't try to understand their children, young people may feel awful and begin to hate their f.
To solve these problems, parents and children should sit down and talk about it. As the childrengup, they will come to understand their parents, and they may feel ashamed of their strange behavior.
