In the first lesson of high school, our math teacher, Mr Stevens said, "I'll teach you math this year." He walked around the1, handing our math books. When it was done, he returned to the2of the class and looked at us. We looked at him, too.
"What are you3for? Get started!" he said.
We looked at him and felt4. Wasn't he going to teach us? Is there anything wrong with our eyes?
"Mr Stevens, aren't you going to teach5?" one brave boy asked. Mr Stevens replied, "Open your books and read it.6you have questions, raise your hand and I'll help you."
Mr Stevens helped7who had a problem. Only when we had the same8,he would stop us to teach all the students. It was a strange way of teaching,9it was very effective(有效的). We10two and a half math books in the first year.
It was a turning point in my life. Mr Stevens made me realize that I was good at math.
We live in a colourful world. In different countries, colours have different meanings. They are used to represent different holidays.

Do you have the experience of taking music lessons against your wishes? Perhaps you have complained about it because you thought it took you much playtime. The Canadian study showed that after one year of musical training, children did better on a memory test than those who didn't take music lessons.
The researchers(研究者) made the children aged between 4 and 6 into two groups- one group of children took music lessons outside school, and the other didn't take any musical training. In one year, they took four tests in different times. The results showed brain(大脑) development changes at least every four months.
The children taking music lessons not only did better in musical listening but also made faster progress in other ways, such as reading, writing, Maths and IQ.
