Big schoolbags have been a big problem for students for a long time. Maybe your schoolbag is too 1 to carry, Now e-textbooks will help you.
It is said that many Chinese middle schools are going to use e-textbooks. An e-textbook is a small computer for students. It is much lighter than a usual schoolbag and easy to carry. It can 2 everything for study though it is as small as a book. The students can read the text page by page 3 the screen. Take notes with the pointer (屏写笔), or even "hand in" their 4 to their teachers by sending e-mails. All they have to do is to press a button (按开关).
Some people say e-textbooks are good, but some say they may be 5 for the students' eyes. What do you think of it?
There was once a lonely girl who wanted love very much. One day, she found two dying birds in the forests. She took them home and put them in a small 1. She was happy to have two "friends". She2 them with love and the birds grew strong. One day the girl happened to leave the door of the cage open. The larger and the 3 of the two flew out of the cage. The girl was afraid that it would fly away. She 4 it quickly before it could fly away. Suddenly she couldn't 5 a sound from the bird. When she opened her hand, the bird was already dead. Her 6 killed the bird! Then she noticed the other bird jumping up and down 7 the cage. She could feel its great need for freedom (自由). So she lifted it from the cage and let it fly away highly. The bird circled once, twice, and three times. The girl watched as the bird flew. She didn't care about 8 the bird any more. She wanted it to be happy. 9 the bird flew closer and landed (停栖) softly on her shoulder. It sang the 10 song she had ever heard.
The fastest way to lose love is to hold on it too tightly, and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.

Carlos, Marie and their three-year-old little brother Mosh had some free time before dinner. There was a TV show about fire safety, so they watched it. The show was about to end when Mrs. Garza said, "Wash your hands. It's time for dinner."
Carlos could hardly wait to surprise his dad with the cake he and Marie made. As soon as dinner was over, Carlos and Marie stood up. "Excuse us," Carlos said. "We'll be back in a minute."
The two kids went into the kitchen. Carlos put lots of candles on the cake. After Marie lit (点燃) the candles, Carlos carried the cake to the table. He put it in front of his dad and said, "Happy birthday, Dad. Make a wish and blow out the candles."
Just then Mosh took a bottle (瓶) of water and poured it on the cake. The candles went out. Mr. Garza quickly cleared the table.
"Mosh, you ruined (毁坏) Dad's cake," Carlos cried. "Fires on birthday candles should be blown out."
"It will be all right," Mrs. Garza said. "We'll just give it some time to dry out. I'm sure it will still taste delicious."
"I'm sorry Mosh ruined your surprise," Marie said.
"Mosh gave me a bigger surprise," Dad said, laughing. "Maybe since my candles went out so fast, my wish will come true soon."
Once upon a time, the weather was so dry that little food grew. A rich gentleman invited twenty of the poorest children in the town to him, and said, "Here is a basket, and there is a loaf (条) of bread for each of you. Take it, and come back to me every day at this hour till better times come."
The hungry children rushed around the basket, and fought for the bread, because each wished to have the largest loaf. At last they went away without even thanking the good gentleman.
But Gretchen, a poorly-dressed little girl, did not fight, but kept standing far away. After those noisy children left, she took the smallest loaf, which was the only one left in the basket. Then she kissed the gentleman's hand, and went home.
The next day the children were as rude as before, and poor, shy Gretchen got a loaf only half the size of the one she got the first day. When she came home, her mother cut the bread open, many shining pieces of gold fell out of it! Her mother was very surprised, and said, "Take the money back to the good gentleman at once! It must have got into the loaf by mistake. Be quick, Gretchen! Be quick!"
But when the little girl gave the gold pieces and her mother's message to the rich man, he said, "No, no, my child, it was no mistake. I put the gold pieces into the smallest loaf to give you rewards (奖赏). Remember always be as satisfied, peaceful, and thankful as you now are. Go home now, and the money is your own."
I have gone to many cities in China. Nanjing is |
|
one of the more unforgettable cities. Last summer, |
|
I took my son to Nanjing. It was a unusual trip. |
|
When we got there, my son was very exciting because it was the first time for him to take the subway. |
|
When we got on the subway, I found it was filled of |
|
people and we had to stand. However, a boy wear sports |
|
clothes asked me to take his seat. He also advised his friend sitting next to him to do that. So it would be easy of me to take care of my son. |
|
When we got off the subway, the kind boy say goodbye |
|
to us. I used to thinking that people in Nanjing were not |
|
friendly. But this experience real changed my opinion. |
