This year our class went to the zoo as part of our science project (课题). We spent a few hours1 there. We didn't do much 2 . We just had a good time. We left on the school bus at 9 o'clock and 3 at the zoo half an hour later.
There were all kinds of 4 in the zoo. And the animals had many good5 for us. We all wanted to watch the elephant show at 10 o'clock, but before that we went to look at the snakes 6 it was part of our project. I don't like snakes because they are too 7. The elephant show lasted 45 minutes. It was really nice. I didn't know that elephants could play soccer so 8.
Then we had a 15- minute break (休息) for a drink. We went 9 the zoo trying to see as many animals as we could before lunch. Lunch was 10 because we had it with monkeys. Monkeys are my favourite animals. My friends said they were my cousins!
It's a sunny morning. The weather is warm. Alan is at the stop and waiting for a bus. He is going to school.
Then he is surprised to see an old man with a black umbrella(伞) in his hand. "Is it going to rain today, sir?" Alan asks the old man.
"No," says the old man, "I don't think so."
"Then why do you take the umbrella? Do you want to keep the sun off (遮阳)?"
"No. The sun is not very hot today."
Alan looks at the umbrella again. And the old man says, "I'm old. My legs are not very well, and I can't walk fast. I really need a cane. But when I take a cane, people say, 'Look at the old man.' I don't like hearing that. So I take an umbrella."
Hi Lisa,
My name's Tony and I'd like to be your penfriend. I get your name from my teacher, Miss Brown. She is a good friend of your mother's.
So what would you like to know about me? I'm 15 years old. I live in a small house in London, England, with my mother and my two little brothers. I go to Bluecoat High School. I like my school but my teachers always give us lots of homework. I usually do it when getting home from school, but I'm not doing that today — that's because I'm writing to you!
I like playing the guitar. I also like sports. I play basketball, volleyball and tennis. I'm also on the school tennis team (队). But I don't like to play tennis on Saturday mornings because I don't really like getting up early at the weekend.
But what about you? What's life like in Australia? Do you like your school? Miss Brown says you like singing, but that's all I know about you.
So write to me!
Yours,
Tony
The Slow Eater
After other people finish their food, you will find that the slow eater is eating little by little. The slow eater is always the last one to finish the food. Slow eaters are very polite and know how to thank everything in life.
The Fast Eater
Fast eaters always eat very fast. We also call them “big-mouth”. Because they finish eating the food when others start. Fast eaters are open (开放的) to new things, but it is also difficult for them to stay alone (单独地).
The Picky Eater
Picky eaters are like children. They have their likes and dislikes. The picky eater asks a waiter (服务员) for different food. These eaters could be a little selfish (自私的) and ask for a good life.
