The Spring Festival is a very important holiday for Chinese people. Days before the festival, every family begins to clean the house. They decorate (装饰) the doors and windows with paper-cuts (剪纸). They also like to put lanterns (灯笼) in front of the house.
On the eve of the Spring Festival, all the family members come together to have a big dinner. After dinner they watch TV or play cards. At midnight(午夜)
they play lots of fireworks (焰火、烟花) to celebrate(庆祝) the new year.
On the first morning of the new year, people all dress in. new clothes and greet each other. Children can get some money in red packets (小包).So children like the Spring Festival best.
