In order to reduce the stress on the students, Nanjing No. 1 High School has1a "mark bank". The bank lets students "borrow" marks2they can pass exams, and then repay them in later tests.
Here's3it works: The "mark bank" allows students to4marks if they fail the exam. But, just like real banks, it requires "clients (客户)" to pay back the loan (贷款) on time, with interest (利息). So students have to pay for the loan by getting extra marks in future exams. Some teachers also allow the students to repay the bank5doing lab experiments or giving public speeches. Students who don't pay back their loans are blacklisted (列入黑名单) by the bank, just like in real life. "I was sick before the mid-term exams and missed several geography classes," one student said, "I failed the exam, so I am glad the ‘mark bank' gave me a6to pass the exam."
7many people think the "mark bank" is a great idea, not8supports the idea. Education expert Xiong Bingqi, for example, believes9the "mark bank" is not proper, but thinks that it takes stress off the students. Others think that such an idea just causes students to be10in their studies.
There is no cure (治疗) for the common cold. Below are four ways to help stop a cold spreading and to feel better again.
Wash your hands. Washing your hands is the most important way to stop the spread of colds. Cold germs (细菌) are spread by touch.Wash your hands carefully, using soap and hot water. If all the members of your family wash their hands too, they will be much less likely to get the cold.
There is a saying that "Coughs and sneezes (喷嚏) spread cases" —always use a tissue paper to cover your mouth when coughing and your nose if sneezing. That way, the cold germs won't get onto your hands and spread to things you touch.
Clean your house.You can use a disinfectant (消毒剂) cleaner to clean doorknobs, taps, toilet handles and so on.
Take care of yourself. Some cold medicines can help stop aches and fever. Eat healthy simple foods such as soup or rice.
