I was also nervous before I got here, but once I arrived I soon felt happy. You asked me about the kinds of clothes you should bring. You should bring one formal outfit for important dinners, and remember to bring lots of warmclothes, as well. Yes, I did say 'warm', because it is a bit cold here until the summer!
My mum wanted to make sure that I packed lots of special food so that I would nother Chinese cooking too much. However, there are many different kinds of food in the UK, and I can buy all my favourite foods at small Chinese shops. There are also lots of cheap restaurants near the university.

Another suggestion is to learn how to cook some of your favourite before you come. Chinese food in England very different to the food back home. You can also go to the university canteen—eating with others is a great way to make new friends.
You will probably live in the halls of residence in your first year. People usually have their own room, with a desk, and a bed. The bathrooms and kitchen are usually the corridor. The kitchen is also a great place to meet the students in your hall. Remember that everyone is nervous, so don't be afraid to talk to the people you meet.

It was my first week in Kansas City, the USA. My friend, Sharon, asked me whether I'd like to try McDonald's for a quick lunch. So, we went. American fast food is quite popular in China, so I could1 pick something that I used to have in Beijing-a super burger, a coke and French fries, though the names of the food were in English.2, the burger was much bigger than what I had back home. I thought to myself, after all, most Americans are bigger than Chinese. They must need more for lunch.
With my lunch set in front of me, I wanted some tomato sauce to3my French fries, so I went to the waiter and asked him for some tomato sauce.
"What?" he looked puzzled. "Tomato sauce?"
I started to feel uncertain. I had studied English for six years. He should be able to understand me without any problems. Maybe, it was not called "tomato sauce" here, I4.
"I'm not sure what you call that thing," I tried again, "but it's American food, and you put tomato sauce on everything."
"Sorry, Miss," he said, shaking his head, "but we don't have tomato sauce here. Never have."

Do you envy people who have a good memory? They only have to spend a few minutes on a page and will rthe content. There are some things you can do to improve your memory. Try these.
Be more abservant (善于观察的). Some people who claim (宣称) to have a bad memory don't rhave memory problems. They just don't take time to notice the d. Get enough sleeping hours. Lack of sleep affects the brain functions. You need at least seven hours of sleep every night. Give your brain cells a chance to rthe damage done by a day's work and even more if you drink coffee or alcohol a lot. Eat lots of fruits, vegetables and grains. Aside from (除......以外) being healthy, these foods help you improve your memory.
“More young people should study Science", Hazel Wallace, a Science teacher from London, said at a conference for young scientists last weekend." More young people should take Science subjects at school and study them at university, "she said." Scientists can change the world and can improve life for everyone. We also need more people who want to teach science and do scientific research."
But there was bad news from Professor George Benson, a research scientist and university Science teacher, who was also at the conference." Science courses at university are very good," he said, "but there's a real problem with Science teaching in schools. One in three people who teach Physics to 15-and 16-years-olds don't have a physical degree. Not enough people are studying Science at university and this means that there are not enough science teachers."
Mrs Wallace didn't agree." It's true that the number of Science pupils fell between 2000 and 2010."She said." But now the numbers are rising again. The number of students who take Science subjects at school is much higher now than it was five years ago."
Professor Benson was certain that numbers were still too low and added, "There's still a problem with science lessons in schools. Most young people think that Science is boring or difficult or both. We have to find ways to interest 12-16 years olds in studying Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Old-fashioned teaching methods have to change, We must spread the news that Science is very important, but it can also be fun."
