When you are about to go to a boarding school in England, there are many different questions that may come to mind. But once you look at them with some perspective, you will certainly feel easy. Here is a normal boarding day.
Early Morning：
Usually boarders get up around 7:00 am and have around an hour to take a shower and put on their uniform before breakfast.
Lessons：
Classes start at 9:00 am and every lesson lasts for 50 minutes. After two lessons, at 10：40 am, you'll have a short break. The next period of classes will include two more lessons.
Lunch：

What a day! I started at my new school this morning and had the best time. I made lots of new friends and really liked my teachers. I was nervous the night before, but I had no reason to be. Everyone was so friendly and polite. They made me feel at ease. It was like I'd been at the school for a hundred years!
The day started very early at 7:00 am. I had my breakfast downstairs with my mom. She could tell that I was very nervous. Mom kept asking me what was wrong. She told me I had nothing to worry about and that everyone was going to love me. If they didn't love me, mom said to send them her way for a good talking to. I couldn't stop laughing.
My mom dropped me off at the school gate about five minutes before the bell. A little blonde (金发的) girl got dropped off at the same time and started waving (招手) at me. She ran over and told me her name was Abigail. She was very nice and we became close straight away. We spent all morning together and began to talk to another girl called Stacey. The three of us sat together in class all day and we even made our way home together! It went so quickly. Our teacher told us that tomorrow we would really start learning and developing new skills.
I cannot wait until tomorrow and feel as though I am really going to enjoy my time at my new school I only hope.
I have dreamt of taking a trip to Hawaii since I graduated, but the best thing always needs waiting. I took a trip with my friends to Haleakala National Park, which lies in Hawaii.
When we arrived at Haleakala National Park, we were advised to watch the early morning sunrise. I was lost in the sightseeing (观光) that afternoon, so I could hardly wait to see the sunrise. The next morning, we all got out of bed very early and got to the seaside at 3 o'clock. In the first half an hour, we imagined how wonderful it would be when the first light came out through the thick clouds and how soft it would be when the light touched our skin, so we waited and waited. However, another half an hour later, I gradually lost my patience since there was nothing but the chilly darkness, and I felt that I was frozen to death. But my friends were still extremely cheerful.
Nearly another one hour later, "Amazing!" Judy burst out and we all shouted to welcome the light, which was really unbelievable. Until today, I dare say that it is the most impressive sunrise in my life. However, waiting in the morning darkness is also one memory I can't forget forever.
Waiting sometimes is really a hard thing for most of us as it needs patience and strong willed determination (决心) , but what about the result after that? It might turn out to be pleasing and unbelievable. So, it is really worth waiting for the best.
"Farm to table" is the name of a movement that encourages people to eat locally grown food. The farm totable idea has become more popular in recent years. But there is also a movement that brings "table to farm". Its purpose is to connect people to the land and to honor local farmers by creating a sort of restaurant without walls.
Its founder, Jim Denevan, got the idea for this kind of "culinary adventure (美食探险)", as he called it, ten years ago. He recently prepared tables for more than a hundred people at Briars Farm in Virginia. He and his eight member team arrived the night before. Chefs (厨师) from a local restaurant prepared the dinner.
Jim Denevan's brother is a farmer and he himself is a chef. He thought that the idea of a meal served right on the farm made sense, though not everyone agreed.
"But I wanted to make the idea work, so I decided to cross the country," said Denevan. "I went all the way across the United States and set the table on farms, ranches (大牧场) and beaches, and all the places where food came from."
"This kind of event connects us with a lot of enthusiastic people, people that we can form relationships with," said Matt Szechenyi, who operates Briars Farm.
The tour of the farm ends at the dinner table. The meats in the meal come from Matt Szechenyi's farm. The vegetables come from nearby farms. Guests and local farmers sit together.
Annoica Ingram came with a friend. "The food is wonderful. I appreciate their hard work. I see everything they have to do to take care of the animals and make sure they are well cared for. Without them, I think, we'll have big problems，" she said.
Starting high school means changes in your life. Most teenagers look forward to the first day of high school, but still feel a little bit nervous.
Learn all that you can about your first day before the first school day. Take part in some activities that are held at the school for new students to know the school better. If parents are invited to the activities, take yours with you. Carefully look over all the materials (材料) you receive.

Make friends and take part in such school activities. Ask someone in the school office about chances to take part in school activities if you don't know how. This is a good time to do what you like to do and a chance to try new things. Who said school has to be all work and no play?

The Voice of Rigo
Rigo had a loud voice. People were always telling Rigo to be quiet. His mother would tell him to use his quiet voice inside the house because the baby was asleep. His father would ask him to speak quietly in the car so that he could concentrate on his driving. His teacher would tell him to talk quietly so he would not bother others who were studying.
Not only did he have a loud voice, but Rigo liked to talk a lot. Whenever he had time, he would talk with his classmates, sharing everything he considered fun. He liked to yell and shout. Sometimes he just yelled, "Hey!" for no reason. He liked the sound of his very loud voice for he thought it had more penetrating (穿透的) power than that of an actor. But not everyone felt the same way.
When Rigo shouted goodbye as he left for school, his mother shook her head, "Rigo! Be quiet!" When his father drove him to school, Rigo said, "Hey! There's Chris!" He pointed at his friend, who was walking to school. His father shook his head. "Rigo, use a quiet voice in the car." At school, his teacher talked to him three times about using his quiet voice. His classmates shook their heads, throwing an upset look at him when he talked aloud.
Later, Rigo had to sit by himself for a while. His teacher wanted him to practice being quiet. Rigo had to sit quietly for five minutes. It felt like five hours or five days. When the five minutes was up, Rigo went to his desk and sat quietly. It was not easy.
After school, Rigo was waiting for his father when he saw Chris again. "Hey!" he yelled. "Chris! Hey!" The headmaster was walking by. Rigo was sure he was going to get in trouble for his loud voice. He looked quickly at the ground. Maybe the headmaster would keep walking.
