As soon as he finished his homework, Eric jumped onto his bicycle and1off in the direction of the beach. While he was riding along, he2about the whales(鲸). He hoped he would see them again today. He found that these huge elephants were being held by only a small rope tied to their front legs. No chains, no cages. It was clear that the elephants could, at any time, break away from their ropes but for some reason, they did not.
