Have you ever been to the zoo? There are different kinds of 1 in the zoo. We can see the zoo keepers (饲养员) give them food to 2 . They don't have to 3 food by themselves (他们自己). They just eat, walk and sleep 4 day. So many of us think the animals in the zoo are 5 and lucky. But most of them are sad. Why? They are not 6 in the zoo.
Animals 7 elephants, monkeys and tigers usually live freely and happily in forests or mountains. Tigers, for example, run, jump, play with 8 children and catch small animals for food. But now they 9 stay in small cages（笼子） in the zoo. Their life in the zoo is quite 10 from their life in the forests. Now many people think more animals should go back to forests and mountains so that they become free and happy again.
The exam comes in July. When the exam finishes, the summer vacation begins. Boys and girls have two months to rest. The summer vacation is the best part of the year for most children. The weather is usually good. They can swim, go to summer camp or visit other places with their parents.
We all know that the beaches are good places to relax. Some children are lucky to live near the sea. They can enjoy the sea at any time. But for the children who live far from the sea, they only go to the beaches for one or two weeks with their parents.
Why do children like spending their summer vacation on the beaches? It is because they like the sand, the sun, the cool wind and the salt water. There are a lot of new things to see, nice things to eat and exciting things to do.
Mrs Brown is very fat (胖).
“Don't eat meat or cakes,” her doctor says to her.
“I'm going to stop her eating them, doctor,”her husband (丈夫) says.
The next morning, Mrs Brown makes a nice cake, and her husband eats half of it. After he goes out, Mrs Brown cuts (切) a very small piece of the cake and eats it. It is very good. She cuts a bigger piece and eats it. In a few minutes she finishes the cake. “My husband is going to be very angry (生气).” She says. “What am I going to do?”
She makes another cake very quickly, eats half of that, and leaves half on the table.
Her husband comes back later. He sees the half of the cake on the table and he is very happy.
